I'll update back with a ton of pictures in a few days when I have my car back but my entire car was fully 3 stage paint corrected, front clip/rockers/mirror caps covered with xpel ultimate, and everything is being topped with Cquartz finest. Also 5% tint too
Fixed that right up for you buddy

Sweet baby Jesus, That black GT350 looks incredible. Not just the paint, the whole thing is so black. Sinister. Nice car man.

I went with Opti-coat, pro plus, its a ceramic coating and yes
even on brand new with less then 25 miles required a lot of
work. Ended up clay baring, to buff process.
upside is no swirls ( black paint)
and now only was and detail, after a drive, worth it in long run.
also gave me a 7 year warranty.
first pic, passenger door.

You guys that are using the DIY coatings...do these go on the stripes also, or just the paint?

I did not use expel, just the opti-coat pro plus.
I am not a collector, but I did talk to one,
he said expel can devalue a car.
Not sure on that, but decided to go this way.
Full paint de-contamination, 2 buff cycle, then apply.
this is not a DIY.

I have used XPEL on all my cars the past several years and have never had a problem - no edges peeling, no paint problems and no yellowing. In addition, when I've traded in these cars, I've always gotten much higher trade-in values (more than the cost of the initial XPEL application). I have never seen or heard that XPEL or any other properly applied, quality paint-protection film has lowered the value of a vehicle.

As I said, I am not a collector, so did what worked for me, result and budget wise.
I say each to there own. If all is right in the world, I will own this when I die,
so what its end worth is not going to matter to me

Has anyone here ever used Chicago Auto Pros for a ceramic paint treatment?

It kind of depends on the collector to be honest. Some guys want the car never modified, including film, for whatever reason.

I sold a 65 fastback to help fund my 16 gt350. the gentleman was thrilled that it has xpel on it.

His line of thinking was that it gave him the ability to drive the car and worry less about devaluing it due to rock chips in the paint. He was also really happy about the cquartz because bugs come off far easier.

In my case it actually helped sell the car to that buyer.

xpel comes off easier than it goes on if a pro is doing it. it is in no way permanent.

Did you invest in covering the plastics?

I went to my local detailer (5 mins away) detail maniacs. In talking with them it appears cquartz finest and opticoat pro are very similar products on quality. With opticoat pro having been released most recently, and not many examples of how it holds up long term. The person I talked to gave the nod to cquartz for that reason. Looking at about $1000 for the single stage treatment, about $1200-1300 for the two stage treatment.
