My friend, I promise you I am not arrogant. No one should willfully be a victim of price gouging. Also, if money is no object, then it would be better spent on something other than a Ford Mustang.

I don't car shop so that the dealerships can make money. I abide by my agenda, and it doesn't include helping their profit margins.

At least shop. I just about guarantee there are dealers who would be willing to cut a lower than MSRP, especially on a custom ordered vehicle. Otherwise, let it sit on the lot and rust to the ground. Don't fall for it.
If you think that, especially with the GT500, you are delusional.

I like the way you think... But the world is cruel and there are alot of dumb asses out there who will finance the car with a 20k adm and sell when they must.

For the rest of us, msrp is a good deal and if you're an interested buyer I suggest you realize this unless you're willing to buy used (which is a great idea) or get in line for a 2nd or 3rd or 4th MY.

If I really want a GT-500, I will find a way to get it at my price. Otherwise, I'm not interested. I am no more delusional than the salesperson who thinks I will buy it if it's marked up. They can sell to you all they want, but they won't sell it to me.

Boundaries, guys! Set boundaries. LOL

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we live in a great country that allows us freedoms to do mostly what we want, I do have a fundamental problem with the quote above only because we do live where we have capitalism and business owners. Those business owners must make money and a profit or we lose what we was built on, if businesses donā€™t make money and wealth is distributed then we turn more toward socialism which though out time has proven to fail for everyone who lives in that country. I donā€™t want to be taken advantage of but I do want and hope that every car dealer I have bought a car from has made a profit off the sale of the car I bought.

Iā€™m sure some will disagree with me that is their right as Iā€™m sure there will also be some that attack my statement thatā€™s fine too.

So, this is a capitalist economy. Hmm. Doesn't that also include saving money as well as making money? You're confused. They want to take money from you more than you want to keep it for yourself. That is not capitalist! That is you being taken advantage of and being a dumbass.

I'm exhibiting the most capitalist philosophy of any of you! Save money = Make money.

How is being capitalist more appropriate for a car dealership than a private individual?

I guess I will be getting a 2020 GT500 for $30k under MSRP because my salesman likes me.

I understand where youā€™re coming from, but capitalism is dictated by business owners that can charge whatever supply and demand dictates. In the current market and foreseeable market for the product that this board specializes in (the 2020 Ford GT500), the market is dictating an MSRP deal as about as good as you can get unless you are a good friend of a dealer with an allocation. With 5,000 estimated units produced, this deal could stay about the same, get worse, or get better based upon how many parties become interested when it hits the street around October. People can argue that the C8 is a better deal, blah blah blah but youā€™re getting into apples vs oranges and the fact that Chevy produced around 35,000 units the first year of the C7 and will probably do similarly with the C8. So if you donā€™t want to pay around MSRP for a GT500 or arenā€™t interested at this time, thatā€™s totally fine. Enjoy what you have and investing instead of buying cars. Iā€™m an investor myself and know that car buying is a loser deal, but itā€™s a hobby and hobbies are always losers from an investment standpoint.

OK, now that I can get behind! The lesson on capitalism is a little unnecessary, but otherwise is sound.

I was specifically asking for the other fella to educate me but you beat him to it.

2013 GT500 - SOLD and 2020 GT500 - SOLD
Ever since the introduction of the 2015 GT350, MSRP is the new Invoice price. It took 4 years before you noticed GT350 at MSRP regularly, I think this is the first year dealers are starting to sell below MSRP. I know of one dealer the sold quite a few 2020 GT350's at $1000 over invoice and they didn't last long.
Most of the 2020 GT500's that people on the forums have ordered were ordered for MSRP. The only problem with the forums is people are reluctant to admit that they paid an ADM because some other members are going to ridicule them for paying an ADM.
I called at least 25 dealers within driving distance and everyone of them wanted at least a $5000 ADM, most a lot more. I was about ready to give up, when out of the blue I got a call from the dealer I bought my 2013 GT500 from, and he offered to sell me a 2020 for MSRP. I jumped on it. Life is short and unpredictable, I can't afford to wait around for a deal. If I can't get something for the price I want to pay, I walk away. These cars fall into the want category, not the need category.

Totally agree. I was prepared to pay a little over also after dicking around with several dealers too. I donā€™t judge or call anyone stupid with what they do with their money or if they want to pay an ADM. Itā€™s none of my business. This is a YOLO car, so it is what it is.

So you think dealers should lose profit? My family owned 7 dealerships at one point. We would not sell a vehicle unless we were making money that was worth it. Whether you bought at MSRP or invoice we were making money. We made money on your trade if you bought at invoice. If you bought at MSRP we made money on the car you bought and your trade 95% of the time. Just because you bought at invoice doesn't mean shit (not sure if allowed here). So if your ego is you buy at invoice, I hate to tell you they still made money on you unless you bought a unit that no one else wants and has sat on the lot. End of the month they may break even if they are trying to get manufacturer bonus, but then again they still made money. Your ego seems rather large and seem to think you can out smart a dealer. Sorry unless It is a terribly ran dealership they are getting the upper hand.

If you really get as good of a deal as you claim to, you were the customer I blew out of the show room and didn't care to lose their business. It is always the ones that get the best deal that cause the most problems and don't appreciate a relationship with a dealership.

So based off of your responses I just assume you are a lower middle class person. Try to talk big and smart but really you are trying to compensate for what you don't have. Bounce somewhere else where you might actually be the top dog. Promise it isn't in this forum. You're trying to make up for what you don't have and that won't get you far in the sub forum.
