You know... Dealers are still asking 5 - 7K ADM on the northeast and then sitting on the car for 3 months what sense does that make?
Sense of hoping to net a big profit over "stocking" fees.
Also it generates attention to the dealership for having a sought after car.
But this will last to a certain point. At least until the end of the year.

I've never really understood all of the angst over dealerships making money. That is what they are there for. They don't build them to make friends and become your best bud.

Educate yourself and get the best deal you feel comfortable with. If it works out, shake hands and take the car home. If not, move on with your life.

People want to pay as little as possible whats so complex? Historically some dealerships are not GOOD guys they try to F#!# you in every way from the price of the car to inflated interest on your loan to over price options.

Dealers can make what they want but if ford sells 30% less GT350s how does that help ford? or in the end us? If a dealer gets you to pay 5K ADM on a car are you going back to the dealer again for anything?

Anyone want to ponder a guess on the true market value of a '16-'17 R? Electronics package, New, or next to new.

I'm guessing at $78,000, private sale where you would be the 2nd owner.

$82,000 New from dealer.

Prices where I think one would actually sell and not just sit on the dealer floor.

Edit: This one is back on ebay. This one had a closed sale of around $84K last time, must of fallen through.

If anyone has info on and doesn't need a low ADM or MSRP allocation for 2017, even if it is a very late build please let me know. Looking to trade in my 2016 Tech car and My original plan "fell through" so to speak. I really thought I had a good relationship with the dealer however I guess 4 cars in 5 years isn't shit anymore with cheap credit. It is sitting on ebay for 69k.

Of course people want to pay as little as possible and the dealer wants to get as much as possible. Why are they the evil bastards and the customer is the good guy? It's just business.

And yes, I would go back to my dealership. I got a really good deal on my 15 F-150 last year. I paid 5k ADM on my car, but they also gave me 4500-5500 more than anybody else was offering for my trade. I obviously don't like paying ADM, but the deal made sense to me so I signed.

Why do we necessarily care what helps or does not help Ford because of their relationship to their dealers? Ford knew full well what was going to happen. It isn't the first nor the last time this will happen.

Where it is bull*&!$, is when a dealer agrees to a price and then tries to change the deal when the car gets close to being delivered. That is when I cut off a dealer and refuse to do any business with them. Especially with a company like Ford. There are a ton of dealers to choose from so just move on to the next one.

To each their own I am not mad at anyone who pays ADM i am mad at dealers who charge it. Im actually really more annoyed that some dealers are charging ADM and not getting it. What makes it worse is dealers have bought 350s from OTHER dealers so they can charge ADM on it.

If ford sells less cars they will make less cars. So if the demand for the GT350 is lower from fords point of view it may delay or hurt future models. At least that how I justify my hate :-d

If my GT350 falls through I will probably never look at any specialty ford again for fear of dealing with the same BS.

I walked into a dealer who only wanted 20k adm on a USED 2016 tech pack I nearly laughed out loud.

I used to feel that way until I purchased one 7K lower than any other in my area. Now I hope the prices stay high. :clap2:

I don't know what to say other then it is capitalism at it's finest. The dealers that sold their GT350s probably still made money on them so I wouldn't feel too bad for them.

I also think you are misunderstood a bit on how they decide to produce x amount of cars. Ford and other manufacturers purposely do this from time to time for whatever reason. I'm sure they decided on a limited number of GT350s before they started selling them to ensure they stayed a bit rare. They've done this previously and will do it again most likely with the next GT500 etc.

They aren't the only ones doing this and are not going to be the last. People paid over MSRP and there was a waiting list for PT Cruisers when they came out.

You should of laughed at the 20k over for a used tech car and done exactly as you did, left. Anyway, enough thread-jacking, just always found these conversations interesting.

Good luck, I hope you find the deal you are comfortable with.

I don't think dealers are evil. From my experience, very few are good enough that I'd even trust them to accomplish a simple oil change without over-torquing the drain plug, over-filling the crankcase, using the wrong oil, or cross-threading the oil filter. Not evil, but FAR from excellent. Look at the early misassembly of the front splitters.

For me, a $60k car is a bit of a stretch. However, the GT350 is the Mustang I've always wanted Ford to build. So, I'm willing to make the stretch up to MSRP. It's *frustrating* that I can't find a dealer to "hurry up and take my money" at that price.

I get that it's a limited model.

That may be the case but I have read Ford has tried to dissuade excessive ADMs and dealers sitting on cars by awarding more allocations and Rs to people who sell more cars. I dont know how true that is.

5000 in 2016 is not a rare car by any means.
