I just did an on-line chat with a guy at that dealership. Here's the conversation. Seems the dealership doesn't want to sell this one ... just 'display' it.

ME: The price on your GT350R shows $367,000 ... must be a misprint?

DEALER: I'm sorry for the confusion. It is not a misprint. The dealership is holding on to the vehicle to use as display, but unfortunately, since it's a new Ford, we have to list it in our inventory. This is the only way to appease Ford, and keep it on the lot.

ME: Ok, thanks for the info. If the price was right I'd be interested, but apparently the dealer isn't ready to sell. Thanks, maybe I'll check back later.

DEALER: You're welcome. And sorry again. It would be good to keep tabs on it. The owner may get tired of it in time.

Reminds me of a dealer in AL I recently talked to. They have a R advertised at msrp on their website so I jumped on it like anyone would do. Turned out GM is keeping the car for himself!!

Whelp, I just got the 'ole bait-and-switch at Crossroads Ford Lincoln in Frankfort, KY. I'd been communicating with an internet sales rep since Tuesday, and was told that they had an available allocation that I could order against for MSRP. I made the >1 hour drive down this morning to put in the order and leave a deposit, only to be told that they wanted $10k over MSRP.

I resisted laughing in the guy's face and telling him that I could list off at least 10 cars sitting on dealer lots unsold because of $5k+ markups.

Little do they know, I work for Toyota and know a ton of people in the neighboring Lexington and Georgetown that I will now be advising to avoid them like the plague.

Yeah, I'm a bit salty.

I have done a bit of a survey over the past few days about current ADM fees. To get the dealers to call, I tried something I had not thought about before. I configured a 350 the way I wanted and like always at the end of the process you can see if there is anything like it within 100 miles (there never is). I used the chat facility and the person at that end can do a national search. I just gave her the specs and within 5 minutes she provided URLS to 4 stickers in process cars or in transit. She also gave me the dealer names they were going to and contact information.

Dealer 1 20K ADM - it was ordered by the owner and he does not really want to sell.
Dealer 2 - The would put you on a list and when the car comes in they set a price first person that gives them what they want gets the car.
Dealer 3 - Best one of the bunch, I think I could get it for 3K admin, but by the time I drive or ship it, there will be another 2K cost.
Dealer 4 - 10K ADM.

These dealers were from the east coast to the middle of the country.

I found a dealer in the next town with an allocation that will let me order the car. They wanted 6K which seems to be the current low end in this area (Boston). They are down to 4.5 K (and have told me they have buyers for 6K adm). I might go with these people. I have found the smaller dealers easier to work with.

The larger dealers in this area are still in the 10 to 20K ADM range (that is if they will even call back.).

If there is a 350 to be had for MSRP (or an allocation) east of the Mississippi, I sure don't know how to find it.

Any other suggestions?

I just returned from a local Mustang car show held at Santa Rosa Airport in California. Besides a lot of classic Mustangs and other muscle cars on display, there were several new Shelby GT350s. My first time seeing a striking AG non-R, and an OW/w blue stripes R.

That R happens to be the $150k+ I posted the other morning from Hansel Ford. It has 27 miles on the ODO - said they trailered it to the show - and guess what? It still has the spacers in the suspension. I pointed this out to the sales rep who was thankful, and a short while later another, 35 yr employee came to me interested in what else I thought needed attention - like the splitter.

When I mentioned that we here on this forum balk at ridiculous ADM, I perceived from them a sort of rolling of their eyes, as they mentioned it was the owner that set the price.

Anyway, got to sit in and hear the exhaust note of what is as close to my car as it can be. It was SWEEEEET!!

Looks like the the Tristate (NY,NJ,CT) the ADMs are holding strong heard 12.5k today on a red track model. I got 5K from a Florida dealer on a 2017 but 65k is to rich for me.

One of my dealers I'm in contact with today told me they have a configurable 2017 GT350 allocation at $2500 ADM if anyone's interested. PM me if you want the details!

UPDATE: Someone's got the details, best of luck!

PS: Don't bother contacting this dealer for a R allocation unless you want spend over $100k.

3 GT350R's- Each went for $30K over (2016)

Town East Ford in Mesquite, one of 4 dealers within 10 miles of my house, just sold the last 2016 R they were allocated for $30K over. They sold 3 R's for 2016, each for $30K over. They also were allocated 10 base 350's, 8 tech., 2 track. Those are long gone, but I do not know what the ADM was on those. But I saw two they had back in Nov. and Dec. and they were asking $20K over for them. I don't know if they sold for that, but it seems they were able to move enough 2016 SS550's and GT350's to once again be rewarded with a huge number of 2017 allotments. Go figure.

Hey Everyone,

The dealer I work for has a GT350 Allocation if anyone would like to order a car. We are currently asking $8000 over MSRP, but that may be a negotiable number since we haven't gotten any takers yet. If anyone is interested, send me a PM. Dealership is located in Pawleys Island, SC. We also have no problem shipping the car.

Do you guys think the ADMs will last for ever? Part of the reason id never pay a large one is if in a year they are gone It will reflect in the resale so you ADM is basically pissed into the wind. That and I find them insulting.

Don't know man.... In my search I spoke to at least one dealer that told me they have never sold a Shelby w/o ADM.

Best of luck

Boss 302 retained value and ADM

This is only slighly related but I was wondering the same thing. I used the Boss 302 from a couple years ago as a benchmark and found that most I could find for sale were mid to High 30's to mid 40s for very low mileage. I found an on -line configurator and that suggests that the held a very high amount of the MSRP after 3 years. If true, that would be the best retained value of anything I have ever owned. The amount of ADM paid seems to vary a lot so that will impact things. Even at $10k looks pretty good if one assumes the GT350 is valued after 3 years as well as the 302.
