Can someone tell how makes a great 17 performance tire?

I just put on Continental DWS EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 and they are very wishy washy going into a turn is very uncomfortable.

The standard 17" size is not going to get you much in the handling department. I've actually heard good things about the DWS so I am surpised. For summer only tires, The Michelin Pilot Super Sport seems to be the best choice.

If I were you, after you wear these tires out I would get some better and wider wheels so you can get 255 or 275s at least. Check out the wheel and tire section too.

Cant beat my setup for affordable. 18x10, 285 35s for about 1300 total. Granted they are cheap tires, but they work pretty well. Certainly better than stock

The DWS is an all season tire. There are much better performing summer tires out there. I've heard a lot of bad about the DW steering response as well. That's why I crossed them off my list. The word "numb" came up a lot.
Any way, if you have the extra cash MPSS are the king, but there are very good, more affordable options. Mickeys Street comps, Bridgestone s04 pole position, the conti DW all are great tires. I went with the Bridestones because they grip a little better than the Mickeys, especially in corners. They are heavy though, but worth it IMO. Theyre right under the MPSS's and they are much much cheaper. All of those 3 are a fraction of the MPSS in price.

This is the first time im hearing anything bad about the DWS how many miles have you put them on, tires do have a break in period of about 100 miles.
