Every guns should be treated as loaded, finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire, never point at anything you do not want to destroy and be sure of what is behind what you are shooting at. Until you can say that in your sleep you have no business touching a gun. I think we all know that these things are tools used to preform a task whether it be punching holes in targets, competing, ie. IDPA or defending family, friends innocent bystanders or self. Call them what you wish but remember they are a responsibility to be taken seriuosly everytime they are touched.

Prior military if you count Sea Scouts. No, just a shooter for 2+ decades. Never hunted but some competition but mostly target & plinking.

My verbiage on sport was mostly in reference to hunting. Of course I consider target shooting competition (key word: competition) to be a sport. But the population of gun owners that take part in sanctioned target shooting competitions is like saying that car owners drive for sport (maybe an exaggeration... but who cares its the internet)

All guns do their job well. Calling it a toy does not take away from the fact what they can do to hogs. However Most of the AR owners I've come across get the AR just to brag about it "And then I got this scope, with this holo sight attachment" and what else do they have? A pistol and shotgun for home defense. Leaving the AR to be just a range toy. Most hunters I've talked to would never (again - my experiences I don't want my statement to be generalized to "All the gun owners in the world") take their AR hunting.

I'm not against owning guns (rifles, hand guns, or shot-guns) - hell I own them myself. I am against the lax restrictions on buying them, and the lack restrictions on keeping them afterwards. If the police, boarder patrol, military have to occasionally re-qualify to carry their weapon. Why not the general public? Your CCW class? Not required in AZ... Why the hell not? What is so bad about making sure those that carry the weapons are competent not to shoot themselves or innocents around them? That kind of common sense doesn't come when you purchase the gun.

Never could I think of a world where guns would be illegal to own. If they were illegal, then only the bad people in society would have them. My views on gun control are my own. Its called an opinion for that very reason - and I respect yours.
I can respect this and do, that's a very well thought out answer to back your opinion and there is a lot of truth in that as well.

My buddy showed me his AR over Xmas he bought, has never shot, and it was a pile of shit. He bought it just to have one, doesn't know how to take it apart, and has no clue how to even field strip or clean it. It has a polymer lower, and cheap non mil-spec barrel. This is a rifle for those who bought one during the great panic buying of 2013/2014. He paid $1500 and I would not have bought it for $250. Uninformed buyer he was and got hosed because of it.

All that said, let's get back to seeing more pics of guns please :D

I completely agree with not calling an AR a toy. If anyone does this around me, I will give them an ear full of hell. After serving in the Army, I don't put up with stuff like that. However, I believe that it is a very slippery slope in regards to increasing standards in regards to gun ownership. Do you really want the government to increase the standard. Lol, they would create a new agency for that and you could kiss your guns goodby. Pres. Osama might let you have a musket.

However, I enjoy shooting my AR and other weapons. I average 600 rounds per week through various weapons. I'll post a pic of some weapons as soon as my wife isn't around. She thinks that I only have a few.

Here is the link to where I find ammo.

I don't want the government involved in 1/10 of what they are involved in. That being said, google Suzanna Gratia Hupp. Her testimony to congress after she lost both of her parents in the Lubb's Massacre in 1991 sums up what the 2nd A is . Her last words ring truer today than any time in our history.

I googled her and it was a good read. We need more people with the same view on the 2nd A.

Yes, please

28K+ annually, now that's some serious volume, particularly if it's factory stuff. I did 25K for about two years in USPSA, but none of that was factory.

I wish that I was sponsored. I just shoot in my free time. I shoot the cheapest ammo that I can find. It is usually trula or wolf; all steal case. I go to the Ocala, FL national forest to shoot. There is an outdoor range there. My line of work is very flexible so I usually go twice a week.

Lol, I'm seeing how much hell they can take. So far, 3000 rounds through my glock 17, 1000 through my piston AR15 and my M&P .45 without cleaning or re-oiling. No malfunctions so far. But the cheap ammo is not accurate at all. I zero my eotech with federal at 150 yards with the magnifier. Then tried hit a target at 100 yards with wolf and missed everytime.

I sold all of my 'tacticool' stuff to right wing whackos for 3x what I paid for it post-Sandy Hook.

I'm thinking of stopping the 401k, putting the money into weapons, and waiting for the next tragedy...will only work w/ a Dem in the WH, unfortunately...

Capitalizing on fear is one thing...on tragedy is another...dunno if it's ethical or not, but since neither Dems or Reps are putting forth any common sense legislature...I figure it's only a matter of time before something else happens...

Gotta watch the ammo.... some cheap ammo has a corrosivity rating... some with what they use in the primer and powder.... clean or cleaner burning powder is what I usually use... winchester ammo I have found to be really good and fairly clean but oh damn the remingtons are dirty as hell.... I never use below 180 grain on my pistol.... don't care if it is even with target practice... I hate stovepipes and ejection failures.... I've been a lil bad on cleaning the.40 though.... need to go to the range and tear up a few targets
