I took it to my local dealer and the service advisor first said they can't go to Ford with the paint and body panel issues and that I should go back to the dealership I purchased it from. He later came back and said since it was a GT500 he would see what he could do with his manager but has not done anything or returned my call.

I am now taking the day off tomorrow and driving back to the dealership I purchased the car from. I am dreading this as their dealership is really small and I don't even think the body shop has full time staff.

Can anyone check their fender alignment and let me know if they align with the hood correctly? There is a significant difference at the top of both fenders between the hood and the fender. In one of the pictures I put a pen up to show the difference which is about a half of the pen width.

A better shot of the hole in the clear coat on the top of the quarter panel.

I found this on the front bumper which looks like one large scratch that hooks around was painted over.

That's pretty crap on the bumper, they haven't used any primer spray fill on those scratches!

I got my car back yesterday with the front and back bumpers repainted. They look pretty good other than having to have them sand out a clear coat issue when i went to pick up the car.

I went to put the winglets on from the handling package today and the body shop put all the bolts for the splitter in the wrong locations. They also over tightened everything. I got underneath the car and there are a few hex bolts missing and at least two that have stripped heads.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the bolts that hold the winglets on? Also the instructions for the splitter install? The dealership parts department can't even find them in their system.

Thank you! What website is that from? The last hex bolt I need is the one from the first picture that needs 7 bolts. It is not showing up in the numbers you posted.

That’s from PTS which only dealers have access to. The parts I listed were just for the wickers. If you need those too, I’m fairly sure it’s going to be the same as one of the 2 I listed. Ford uses those 2 bolts a lot.

I bought a used 2019 GT350R with 171 miles on it. I checked under the front splitter and some of the bolts were missing. Got the bolts from my local dealership and a video on how to install the splitter properly. I swear the PDI techs don’t seem to follow instructions very well on these Shelby’s. There were a lot of early GT 350 with the front splitter installed improperly. They had large gaps because the tech didn’t snap the splitter in properly before they tightened the bolts.

However I Congratulate Ford for finally solving the rear bumper sag on most 15 through 18 mustangs no matter the trim Level.

So i was installing my strut cap covers which use a few 3m adhesive velcro tabs. So as i have done a million times i am prepping the area around the front strut towers. Using regular old rubbing alcohol , YES i am sure it is just regular rubbing alcohol. AND WTF the paint on the back side of my strut towers wiped OFF. Seemed to be isolated to the back side of the strut tower, both sides did the same thing. Luckily the missing paint is covered by the covers but makes me wonder what the hell is going on.

That area doesn’t receive the protective clear coat. You can most certainly rub the paint off with cleaners.

Tell me about it, I just dropped mine off at the body shop. The list of items include:
Hood to fender misalignment
Clear coat defects on rear bumper fascia
Fender to door misalignment
Bumper sag on right side
Paint chip from body panel interference on bumper fascia.

All you can do it give it to a shop that will take their time and do it right.

Stay tuned.
