Tax Return Purchase Ideas

So I have around 1k to spend coming up here and have had a few things in mind on what to do next, wanted to get some opinions or suggestions. I haven't done anything to the suspension or engine yet. Here is what I had my eyes on recently:

Ford Performance Track Handling Pack
Ford Performance Street Handling Pack
Cervini Ram Air Hood
Cold Air Intake (if I did this i'd want to tune, a little worried about warranty though)
APR Splitter for Roush fascia

I've been leaning toward one of the suspension kits, does anyone have experience with either of them? Or are there any vendors out there who have similar, comparable kits? Thanks!

The street handling pack is just the PP suspension with progressive lowering springs. For much less, you can get PP shocks/struts, PP sway bars, and a set of lowering springs. The only downside is you have to compress the front springs onto the struts yourself. The track handling pack is a step above the PP.

I went with PP shocks/struts and BMR lowering springs and couldn't be happier. It's not floaty like the non PP suspension and looks great.

Go with the track handling pack. You'll get a vastly sportier ride and handling. Personally, I made my own Ford Racing Track handling pack by adding some BMR and Steeda IRS parts but even without all that, you'll get much better handling which to me matters more than how much HP you have.

Do you have a list of the parts you bought to make your own? After the CJPP forum discount the track handling pack is $1195, if I can make my own for cheaper then hey why not haha. Thanks for the suggestion!

Steeda CAI and GT350 steering wheel (I just added these). Also have a new suspension waiting to be installed.

What I put on will add cost to your list, so not cheaper, but this is my version of FRPP track package.

Ford Racing Track shocks/struts - included in kit
Ford Racing Y Track springs - included in kit
Ford Racing toe to knuckle bearing upgrade - included in kit
BMR sway bar kit (Ford Racing is fine)
BMR vertical links (TCA046 but I recommend TCA045)
BMR adj toe rods but you don't need those
BMR cradle lockout CB005
Steeda RLCA bearing upgrade
Steeda differential inserts (again not something you really need)

And of those Steeda parts, BMR will do just as well. I bought the Steeda parts because in aggregate it was cheaper.

If you want something different - look at either Steeda or Koni shocks, Steeda or BMR springs and cradle support of some kind (BMR CB005 or Steeda Subframe Support). I like the BMR CB005 myself as they did a really good job designing it.

I would be willing to bet my ride is stiffer than with just the Ford Racing track pack alone would be. But with the IRS parts it is more predictable.

But if you just want to improve your handling without going too stiff on the ride, just do the Ford Racing track pack. Then later if you want more you can add parts incrementally as I did. I bought everything separately so I incurred a much higher cost doing it that way.

Ignore the street setup, as having a PP, the springs/shocks still suck. I'd either go for the track, or see if steeda will cut you a discount on the fixed shocks and some of their springs. The BMR springs are great too. That and a CB005 kit installed all at the same time will really transform the car. I honestly don't feel the need for sway bars with my steeda shock and ultralite linear spring setup. It's pretty flat and controlled in the corners. The CB005 kit will make the car feel like one solid piece instead of the rear suspension floating around back there. Once you've got your suspension dialed in then I'd add power.

That is def the way I am leaning, get suspension done first and deal with power later. I would love to do a Power Pack, but I'd want my own choice of CAI not the GT350 one
