I could use some help from my fellow interior rattle/noise chasers,
I've been going HAM on these interior rattles lately, took the driver door panel off, knocked every part to listen for noise, cushioned all the loose white push pins with felt tape so they're set in place, and added felt tape between the 2 metal alligator pins that were super loose. I still have a buzzing from the cable housing near the window regulator that another member here fixed by wedging a piece of plastic tubing...I'm hoping there's an easier fix for this, but have not found one yet.
The noise I need help with is coming from the tiny red "locked" door indicator (see pic), it makes an intermittent click/tap noise on uneven roads. When I took the door panel off and inspected everything, this guy was kind of loose and I could rotate it with my fingers from the inside, and also wiggle it from the outside. The one on the passenger side is super secure and won't budge at all. I have no idea what the difference in the sides are but I'm not going to take apart the passenger side just for a look inside. There is clearly something holding or insuring the passenger side one to be secure. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be something wedged underneath this area, like a foam padding perhaps, or a way to tightly secure this on to the plastic panel? I don't have a reference of all everything that should be in there from factory so I'm thinking maybe they left something out from factory or hopefully there is a way to give this attachment/clip more tension to secure. From the inside of the panel (on my car at least) it was just a hollow area underneath with the electric cables harnessed on with clips.

BTW, if you haven't seen the inside of the door panel yet, quality and consistency is laughable. It literally looks like Ford wanted it to rattle and buzz the way it's put together and designed.
