Has anyone else experienced this "rupturing" of the gasket/cushion on 2018 taillights? Car was not hit in this corner.

I have the same thing under my passenger side tail light.

I looked at them on my 2018, and they look like their only purpose was to minimize the chance of the tail light contacting the bumper during assembly.

I just purchased a pair of 2018 tail lights for my 2016. They have those little cushion pads underneath. Think they are just to act as a cushion in case of contact between the light and bumper. They are stuck on like two sided 3m tape. I'm wondering if a 2018 owner can help me out. As I said I purchased these tail lights and they have a removable connector port on the back of the light. My 2016 wires are hard wired into the back of the light. It appears the 2018 lights have a removable pig tail connector that patches between the tail light and body harness in the trunk. The first two pictures are of my actual tail lights. The last one is just a stock photo I found on line. There should be a part number on that short harness, can someone please tell me what it is so that I can search for the part on line.
