Just noticed this poking out from under the taillight - same on both sides. Looks like some sort of foam tape. Anyone else have this happen?

Not familiar with the 18/19 models but some guesses: Blocks used during assembly to align taillight during installation that were supposed to be taken off either by Ford or the dealer upon delivery? Protective foam to avoid cracking plastic lenses during the rough trip on the car carrier, also supposed to be removed by dealer?

If you've got them sticking out from both taillights, I can't imagine it's supposed to stay like that from the factory. I'd send this pic to your sales person and ask him/her to explain it.

Bingo.

The dealer should have removed those tabs prior to delivery.

Thing is they weren't there until recently. I'm guessing they expanded with the summer heat.

Do I need to remove the taillight to get them off? Rather do it myself than have the dealer do it.

Pretty common, on mine too.
Certainly an assembly precaution.
Mine don't bug me enough to yank them out yet

I'm just wondering if they should stay under there or can they be completely removed. I could just cut off the part that's showing if there is some benefit to keeping the rest of it intact.

I don't feel like removing the lenses or opening up any intact seals to find out....and why I have left mine alone.
Let us know how it turns out

I'm too anal to leave them there - looks crappy.

I would not advise trying to “cut” them out...because your next post might be that you tried cutting them out, missed or slipped and either cracked the black plastic surround, OR scratched/gouged the black plastic or bumper cover....

It takes literally no more than 10 mins to properly remove the taillight from the body...

Was wondering wtf they had removed the inside trunk liner against the rear then half arsed put it back on?..

Hadn’t looked to see if it was difficult to remove the taillights, so if it’s straightforward I’ll do that.

They come off pretty easy, just grab them with a pair of needle nose pliers and gently pull them away/off.
