This is one of the many reasons I'm glad I carry a Windows Phone. Hands free I can receive, respond or initiate voice text in any car that has just rudimentary blue-tooth. Been that way for years. Google and Apple both had agendas to actively prevent that without an app foothold in the car. Just an added layer of complexity and an opportunity for car manufacturers, phone makers and the govt to make your life more difficult.

You can do that with Siri Eyes Free on the iPhone as well, just not using the Sync commands.

I just picked up my base GT (2016). My radio shows that I received a text message, but it doesn't read them off to you or even notify when a text is received? Is there a setting for that? I haven't read my owner's manual yet.

I just wish the canned replies were actually legible.

Anytime I send one out via the sms reply through Sync 3, it lacks any space between the response and the disclaimer.

Example: "NoThis SMS was sent from my Ford."

weird
Mine puts the "sent from my Ford" on a separate line with Sync 2.

The whole premise of sending text messages while you are driving somewhat baffles me anyway. If you receive a text that is important enough that you feel compelled to respond immediately, just call them.

I consider text messages as a low priority form of communication and normally don't interrupt what I am doing to respond anyway.

Hi 2blackstangs,

Please send a PM with your VIN, name, email, mailing address, and primary contact number. Also include your phone type, carrier, and current software version. I'm going to escalate your issue for review.

Hey strengthrehab,

Try performing a master reset and a clean pairing. To perform the master reset press MENU, scroll down to SYNC MENU, press OK, scroll down to MASTER RESET, and press OK.

Also, be sure to delete SYNC from your phone's Bluetooth settings before re-pairing.
