Why does Ford require a final connection with the Sync update USB memory stick? I downloaded the latest Sync Update onto a blank USB memory stick. The update correctly loaded into my Mustang. The update website states that after downloading that the memory stick must communicate again with the Ford update site.
A file suffixed '.XML' is to be transmitted back to the Ford site. The update site allows the operator to search for the file...click on it...and supposedly transmits the file. However, my memory stick is designated as "H-drive" but when I click on the file...Update displays it as residing in a fake directory on C-Drive. Then it tries and fails to correctly read the file at the Ford site.
1) Why does Ford Update require the XML file?
2) Do I have to copy the XML file over to a newly named directory on C-Drive for the update to be correctly sent back to Ford?
