Sync is beyond awful.... :(

So 450 miles into my 2016 GT350 and have realized that sync 3 is horrrrrrible. It won't update w/ my iPhone, will not access any apps, NEVER recognizes any voice commands, the map is on par with 1st gen BMW technology from 2004 and the stereo is awful... While I love the car, Ford reaaaaaaaaalllllllllllly failed at the infotainment part. My friend has a new Chevy truck with Apple CarPlay and it is amazing in comparison!!

Anyone have any ideas?

We are supposed to be able to get Apple Play sometime next year from what I read here on the forums.

I haven't had any issues except that I can't seem to get traffic updates on the nav screen.

i like my sync. much better than what my bmws 335i had. its opposite in my opinion. BMWs system feels like its from 2004

Track Pack and CD slot mount for your phone. That's my plan.

That's odd, I love mine. NAV and voice commands work perfectly. Interesting you mentioned BMW, I had a 2013 Dinan 135i for a week and I thought the NAV was utterly horrible.

bmw nav is literally useless. it looks like I'm watching a gameboy screen.

weird, i have had zero issues with my sync 3 system so far, and it's a million times better than the old MFT/sync 2

might not yet have apple/android play, but that's coming in the next update.

Chevy MyLink is light years ahead of Sync. I have used both and Sync 3 is nothing but a laggy, unresponsive, turd. Ford makes excellent products but their infotainment is not their strong suit.

In terms of usability, it's fine. Compared to many higher end systems like the ones in my Aston, Mclaren or Ferrari's, it's incredibly user friendly.

Aston Martin B&O (unlike the awful Audi B&O) is probably the best in car audio system in the world, but the user interface is abysmal, so it's all relative!

It's all relative. Sync 3 is bounds better than anything that has come before it in Fords. It is perfect? Heck no, but what system really is? It's still early days in infotainment software.

Most people I've ever talked to have only described Chevy's system with the adjectives you used.

The standard Sync works great. All I care to use it for are for hands free calling and playing music from my phone.

Even then I find myself turning the volume down because the exhaust sounds so freaking good.

I can't think of a better Nav/Entertainment system than the sync 3. It's light years better than the old style and the old sync was better than my tahoes by a mile.

Plus are you really complaining about an entertainment system in a car that comes with 4 of them out the back stock?!
