Base trim, basic Sync package.

I listen to podcasts via Bluetooth a lot. In fact, that's virtually all I listen to in the car -- podcasts and sometimes music streamed from my phone. I have my phone (Galaxy S4) connected to Sync, and it doesn't have any problems.

However, about 60% of the time when I start the car, the Mustang forgets that I was listening to Bluetooth last time and starts the radio. This is annoying for a number of reasons.

One, my podcast volume is usually quite a bit higher and when the radio starts it's often quite loud.

Two, now I have to hit the "media" button on the dash a bunch of times to get to the Bluetooth connection.

Three, the Bluetooth connection will generally be made in the background within a couple of seconds and my podcast will start playing automatically -- regardless of whether or not I actually have that connection selected in the car.

Is there any way to force the infotainment system to remember the last used audio connection and NOT default to radio? I don't mind a few seconds of silence as my phone connects, but this whole "sometimes it plays the radio, sometimes it plays from the phone" thing is dumb and maddening. I've checked owner.ford.com and it says I have NO SYNC SOFTWARE UPDATES.

Down the road I plan on replacing the factory head unit anyway, but that won't be for many months and this is driving me crazy now.

I dont know how to get it to permanently get it to stay on bluetooth, as everytime you exit the car the bluetooth connetion is gone. But:

You can hit the M button on the steering wheel to switch between media modes instead of the having to hit the media button on the dash.

when you hit the voice button and say bluetooth audio, then play, it goes right to it.

Yeah, I just want it to stay on Bluetooth even as it establishes a connection. It's also a bit tedious to cycle through the options, as usually I have to hit "media" twice each for USB1 and USB2 before it gets to Bluetooth.

I didn't know about the "M" button on the steering wheel, but I promise that I won't be using the voice command feature. I HATE talking to machines. Hate hate hate.

OP I feel your pain. I only use bluetooth for music when I'm in my car. I never use usb or the radio. The first week I got the car I was already tired of it. I can't wait till metra or scosche comes out with a dash kit for aftermarket stereos.
