I used the Spotify applink for a little bit but I found it problematic. It was slow to start up, didn't always become available, and although I could select a playlist I couldn't see the songs in the playlist. It used apps from the 1st gen applink so there's quite a bunch. Hey BDMACH!,Any updates with CarPlay and Android Auto?!? Looked around but didn't see anything yet.
Anybody having problems with pandora not starting up or connection drops from Sync 3? When i go and try to reconnect, the app no longer appears in the apps section. PIA.
You have to replace the APIM.. no wiring needs to be changed to upgrade to navigation.. But replace the APIM and have it programmed correctly for your car. APIM is $1000 and has a $300 coreSo is adding the NAV portion to the SYNC3 as easy as just getting the correct module and installing it behind the monitor? I'm sure there are some pinout changes needed too - but for a "swap", I'm sure someone out there is working on an at-home upgrade.
You could also be like me, where I get calls at the worst possible moments :lol:When I ordered my car it was like a $795 option.
We're not talking a $4000 option here.
If $795 is going to make or break your car purchase, you probably can't afford the car anyways.
I've used my nav 2 times in the 10 months I've had my car, but ordering a car without navigation was not an option for me.
What the hell is the purpose of a big pretty screen without navigation?
