Greets all,

Been sitting on posting this for quite some time, but I finally decided to post this and see if anyone else has the issue and to draw attention to a what i consider a design/software flaw in our units (Ford Pay attention).

I know we have the ability to use Android Auto or Apple Car play, but that isnt what this post is about so put that answer aside.

Anyone have the issue that when you at times enter an address and start navigation that the voice cuts out at times here there during the route? Mine does this sometimes (4 out of 10 times) when using the gps and it doesnt matter if I am using the radio, xm or my SSD HD for music, I have tried everything and thre dealership did as well replacing the Apim, reinstalling the software, updating the software, resetting the unit and nothing helps. Was curious to see if anyone else had this issue.

The other issue that I consider a design flaw (Both in Reg Radio and Xm Radio), why is it when using the steering controls to change between presets that it only does 6 presets and we have to physically swipe the screen to go to set 2 or 3 of the 6 presets instead of using the left and right arrows and being able to move through all 18 presets and then wrap back around to preset 1? If everything is suppose to be simple and "hands free" you would think we could move through 18 presets just by using the arrow keys on the steering wheel.

I haven’t had many issue’s with the setups in my various vehicles that have this setup. But I don’t use that many presets. My one huge complaint is on the navigation whatever algorithm they use it’ll take you some very messed up routes. Mine in my 450(22) tries to send the vehicle down county roads(really utv trails) at times that are four wheel drive only and others that are dirt roads. That happens whe using the shortest path setting. You’d think dirt roads wouldn’t be part of that. Not giving Ford a pass but I haven’t been in any manufacturers setup that is flawless though. The head units really are functioning as small lap tops or tablets at this point.

The preset issue is a complaint I’ve had ever since the MyFordTouch version in 2016. My wife’s Kia will scroll through all presets using the wheel buttons. I can’t imagine the programming code for Sync is so extravagant they couldn’t write a few lines to allow preset scrolling.

Unfortunately the Nav is not vehicle specific, but I cant see how the Nav would send you off roading to a location, that seems very far fetched for it to do that. Maybe a longer route than a shorter one I've seen, but I guess it also depends on where you live I guess.

And my Jeep Grand Cherokee scrolls through all the presets as well, and your right, a simple line of code could fix that, why no one has thought of this is beyond my comprehension.

Not far fetched at all actually. I have no reason to bs. Program a destination to Lake City CO for example from northern NM. Get toward the pass going down in to Lake City, and it’ll tell you to take whats technically a county road. It’ll do, the same going through Creede. Paved state road goes north in to Creede, it’ll want you to go(west) straight down a county road(dirt) which technically is a few miles shorter. It’s a little different in the sw. Much less population and more roads. Depending on where you are you won’t have a satellite signal either for gps.

Dont get me wrong I dont doubt you, but the navigation isnt perfect clearly, and as I said all depends where you live.
