hey guys, I got my 2015 EBM back in February of 2015. The car bas been running great ever since, till about August or September of this year where whenever I would be driving, Sync would randomly crash. It did that for about a week, then it worked fine untill two days ago.The screen just freezes, doesn't respond to any of my touches, then 5 mins later it ends up restarting. Once it goes back on, it gives me an "error" screen for less than a second, which I didn't have a chance to get on camera, then restarts again. Its an endless cycle unless I turn my car off, open the door, then start it up again. Does anyone know how to fix it? It is honestly so inconvenient and humiliating when I have people with me in the car and it does that.

This is the video of when the system crashes. I start touching all the buttons at 0:20 and then it blanks out at around 2:04

Once it restarts, it says that Sync is performing inspection, then it gives me an error and crashes again.

I see some funky characters on the BT. Disconnect your phone and and reset the unit by pulling the battery cable and let it restart without connecting to your phone. Run it that way for a while.

Hey marcogerges,

Have you tried a master reset: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync...re-updates/how-to-perform-a-master-reset.html

If the issue continues, visit your dealer as OEMRadio said above.

One of the first tests the dealer is going to do is to test it with nothing connected via BT or USB. So I would suggest doing that yourself as I stated above.

In the past the use of special characters or very large phonebooks would cause the system to do what yours is doing.

It's just that I already took the USB out, and when it comes to my phone, I have not added anything to it in months. But I will try for the next couple of days to drive without connecting my phone to the car

Wow this website was .... well.... crap. no matter what you pick it takes you to the reset of the MFT not the basic sync system when selected
Are these correct?

If you experience problems with SYNC®, you can perform a master reset. This process erases all stored data, such as call history, text message information, and previously paired phones, and restores your system to factory settings.

Before you start

There are a few things you should do before starting step 1:

  • Your vehicle must be in Park and running, not in Accessory mode
  • Familiarize yourself with the controls in your vehicle
  • Make a note of any saved Navigation points and other personal data. This process will erase all of your data from SYNC, and will restore SYNC to factory settings
Press the Aux button to select SYNC.

Press the Menu button.

Scroll to System Settings and press OK.

Use the Seek buttons to find Advanced and press OK.

Use the Seek buttons to find Master Reset and press OK.

SYNC displays, “Confirm Reset?” Press OK to reset your system.
