I have a 2016 premium and my sync 3 system crashes for sure once a week. Out of nowhere, the audio will cut out or start looping and then the screen goes black. After a little while the Mustang logo comes on and everything works again. This has happened using the radio, using a USB drive, and once while talking on Bluetooth. Anyone else have this issue?

The other issue is the setting to enable mobile apps. It seems like it's always disabled every time I check it. I anyways hit enable, but later it reverts to being off. Is this normal?

Yeah.. I would try a master reset.. in the menu.. see how that goes.. I haven't seen many issues with sync 3.

I've had various issues with Sync 3, usually, the Navigation system crashes, and I can't get the map to come back online for some time. I'm just hoping they get the update for Android Auto out soon.

I have buggy issues as well, usually with bluetooth. I've had my screen go black as well. Usually just a quick reset (hold the power and forward seek buttons for a few seconds), and it's back to normal for me.

Mine went wonky this am (ironically on the way to the dealer for other issues). I opened the door & the mustang logo came on, went back into the house for some stuff & everything 'timed out' by the time I returned. Started the car, but screen was still dark. Tried restarting but no joy. Was dark all the way to the dealership.

They moved my car several times while I was there & on the 3rd restart it seemed to reboot - screen, nav, bluetooth, radio etc. all came back

My Bluetooth cuts off during Spotify streaming after an extended period and the NAV locks up.

During an incoming call my Sync 3 screen went blank. I lost audio and all functionality. Audio did come back after five minutes, but the screen was still blank. Turned off the car and the screen turned blue. Went into the store for about a half hour and Sync 3 was back to normal when I returned. I did a factory reset to be safe. Only issue since the factory reset is GPS is sometimes off.

I am having these exact same issues...When my phone connects it is awesome but i'll stop, go into the store and when I come back, no phone, no apps, nothing. And I'll have to go into settings and find it and make it connect again even though it was just connected. Connecting to bluetooth stereo seems to work better than the actual apps like spotify and pandora. I have also had the screen go black and music loop while driving...then it will reset itself and be OK. I really don't know what the deal is...:headbonk::frusty::shrug:

I will try the factory reset I guess

For me Sync 3 has been just a buggy as MyFord Touch was upon release, but with faster hardware.

NAV crashed again today (NAV Fault) after about 45 minutes of use. Bluetooth randomly failed while streaming Spotify over Bluetooth from a Galaxy S7. Sync 3 is really hot garbage so far for me. Sync 3 NAV also failed in my Fiesta ST.

Hey Everyone,

I suggest performing a module reset on your systems. To do so: Select radio > Hold the power button (center of the volume knob) + the right-seek button at the same time for up to 5 seconds. If the reset doesn't resolve the issue, then you'll need to take the vehicle to the dealer for a more hands on approach. Hope this helps!

Cara -
I've tried this several times throughout the past 8 months, and it hasn't resolved the issue. I've also had it to the dealer several times, and they tell me there's nothing they can do until Ford releases a software update that fixes whatever problem there is with communication between the Sync module (I believe it's the AHCI module) and the GPS antenna. I've been told by the service manager at my dealer that even the dealership owner's Mustang has this issue, and I've uploaded several videos on Youtube that detail the issue. My car had this issue on the first day I owned it, and I get issues at least once a week.

I really wish Ford would either fix the issue, or release the update for Android Auto. My $40k car shouldn't have nagging issues like this.
