I know at least me and one other member are wondering about doing this. Some of us didn't like all the crap that came with the 50th AP (I for one was upset I couldn't do a spoiler delete with it, and no PP available on convertible which can delete it on coupes.)

I looked into it on FordParts.com to try and see if it is a direct swap, which it appears it might be (should be I'd think). If I am reading it right, however, it appears it is $928.98 for the dang thing! That can't be right, as the entire bumper cover doesn't even cost that much.....

I wanted to start a thread to both see who all is interested in doing this and post updates if anyone does (and possibly a how-to).

I found what appears to be the fanged lower grille (for those with ACC who want to attempt to swap out the boxed lower grille for fanged one). That seems to be reasonably priced @ $91.73

That price! I was expecting $250-$300. Also, how were you able to determine the correct sub-part for the 8200 callout? The descriptions aren't that conclusive to me.

Yeah I'm not sure why the three different ones for a GT, and the descriptions don't make much sense to me either....especially the 'body color' descriptions...didn't think that insert had any body coloring on it? I don't have my car yet so I can't really look that closely yet. I called a local dealer parts guy and he was seeing the same thing I have posted and he wasn't any help in understanding it either. Wish they would show actual photos of parts! Might have to find out who has it in stock and get them to send me photos of the different types.

Is anyone (aftermarket) offering the GT or even GT350grill to replace upper and lower ecoboost grill ?
Probably ford will sell the first one as spare part ?

I am surprised I haven't seen ANY types of aftermarket grilles yet. I presume we will see some eventually though, as it is a popular upgrade among Mustang enthusiasts!

Thanks for the legwork. I don't have my car yet either. I wonder if our resident Ford Service rep has any resources that can help.

My guess is that $900+ is for everything you'd need to do the grill. I bet just the grill is the 'call for price'.

I would just call your dealer and ask to see if they can price it for you. I highly doubt it is $900.

Yeah I may have to try some more dealers...I did call my local one and he was looking at the same thing I did online and had no clue either. Would be nice if I could talk to some engineers at Ford! (I'm an engineer so I can talk engineer to them....lol)

Once you get the full part number you can usually buy the OEM parts for significantly cheaper than Ford charges. I bought a ton of OEM parts for my 2005 from various sites and dealers for 40-70% cheaper.

Hmmmm...not a bad deal...though that's the standard fang GT grille but a good place to keep an eye out for the 50th grille. I also may just try and get the matching lower fang grill and see if it will fit over the ACC sensor without screwing it up. I would guess it wouldn't otherwise Ford wouldn't have used that special lower for ACC cars!

Yeah I hate that they don't put up the part numbers on the Ford Parts website. Even still, I need to somehow verify what the true part is for the 50th upper grille, as even my dealer isn't sure.

I ordered the 50th Appearance Package SOLELY for the grille and rear gas cap. Didn't care too much about the other stuff (replacing the wheels anyway; I need chrome!) but needed those.

Guess I'll scratch this off my mod list until the price comes down.
