So its got to be a given this 2015 will get a super bowl spot? Anyone think so and do you think it will be one we've already seen or a surprise?

Super Bowl ads are crazy expensive without much return. With the car not coming out until the late third quarter of 14 it would be a waste.

Well Ford has deep enough pockets that even a 30 second spot or longer is not even a drop in the bucket...However I was wondering about the timing, pretty far off for the ordering, etc...Still would be a great way to make sure no one misses that this car is debuting later this year.

It's hitting the auto show circuit big time right now and tons of people are seeing it either live or in pics. im not sure the super bowl is worth the money at this point but I wont complain if it shows up!

The reach of the SB would far trump auto shows that mainly enthusiasts like us follow. They need to reach joe avg who gives a crap about car magazines, forums and car shows. I am pretty sure there must be a global buy for commercial spots too, which would be perfect since the car is gloing global for the first time.

I don't disagree it is questionable if they'll do it, but if I were Ford I would.

Wasn't "The One" Ford GT ad back in the day originally run during the Super Bowl? I thought that car became available in the fall of that year, as well.

Has the pace car for the Daytona 500 been announced?

That's ok, but Acura did sort of the same thing, and their car is still not available yet.

Remember this superbowl ad?

Ya, still too soon. the marketing needs to be red hot when they bring the car out. If you start now, how do you keep the interest hot, (without wearing it out) by fall?

Along those lines, anyone think they brought the car out too early?

im just afraid it becomes like the 5G camaro and loses some of the buzz before production. Do a superbowl ad now but we still have maybe 9 months to go before anyone owns one...

I wouldn't worry about that. Nine months vs 3 years. Remember the Camaro was first seen very early 2006 and didn't make production until early 2009. But the circumstances were different because the Camaro was coming off a hiatus and demand was high.

Unless my team is in the game(not likely) I will be watching the super bowl only for the great commercials. Let's hope Ford thinks about this.
