I'm going to risk a potential barrage of 'Really, what are you thinking?' type comments, but did anyone go for the Supagard protection that they try and sell you with the car?

It feels a lot like buying a pair of shoes and "oh, by the way Sir, would you be interested in the shoe cleaner that will protect and prevent..." well, you know the rest.

When it comes to car cleaning products it's one thing I will not skimp on, but my guess is I would be better off getting it professionally detailed (any recommendations for the Suffolk/Essex area appreciated) rather than going for the dealer option at £325.

Any thoughts or experiences on this would be greatly appreciated.

Nah, dont do it. Spend a bit more and have it done by a specialist.
Gtechniq would be my recommendation but other stuff is available ;)

Just had my car detailed by Matt at Obsidian Detailing near MCR, always prided myself on my ability to keep a car clean and polished, but seeing my car after being professionally finished, it's on a completely different level. Recommended.

Have a look on Facebook for Obsidian Detailing, you'll see my car there. Can't figure out how to put a link to it.

Thanks for all the advice. You have confirmed my suspicions.

I will have a word with the guys at GT101 when I'm over there on Monday for the open day. :)

I certainly will do, thanks. You can never see too many pictures of detailed Mustangs!

My dealer who was otherwise crap included it in the sale without prompting,no idea if they did it but got the top up/cream etc pack when I collected.
If it's free, fk it, but it lasts a few months it's not really all that good. Dealer waxes are trash.

It's not really about the 'trash' wax, more about how it's prepped and applied

Don't do it, don't even let them wash it if you can help it.

Or am I just strange and paranoid:headbonk::headbonk:
