What tire exactly, actual size varies.Hi All,
I have 285/35/19 tires on 19x10 wheels with a 40mm offset.
I put these on my front today and measured my tire to strut clearance to be only about 5mm. Is this enough?
Car is not lowered and on stock PP springs
Thanks
Thank you....TL;DR - Probably safe to drive, just check the tire sidewall after a bit for wear.
I've also got 285s on 10" wheels and I get a little temporary rubbing (visible on the strut) with about that much clearance. Asked the local speed shop about it and he basically said if its has not obviously damaged the tire you're probably ok. Keeping your pressures at 32 or higher is probably a good idea if you're worried about it.
Tire sidewalls rub curbs and other stuff and as long as its brief and rare (which it should be), the tire should be fine. I'll let you know if mine pops![]()
