Lets say theoretically I only want my car to perform optimally on the street. NO track. No strip. What are the do's and don'ts?
For example, would lowing the car and tightening the suspension be a negative on the street as compared to the track?
I know most say don't get wide tires etc..

most will probably tell you the PP is the way to go and change to a progressive lowering spring. I do feel that 3.55 is a better street gear than 3.73 as a DD with no track time

Street, you'll be fine with upgraded lowering springs and maybe sway bars. Biggest thing is better tires.

Anyone that's gotten springs regret it? I'm wondering if anyone finds the mod too much for a daily driver.

I've got a convertible, so I'm definitely not racing it, but I do find that it's a bit bouncy for my taste when I'm driving hard.

I'd start with a massive blower and some slicks. You'll get much improved MPG and better handling. It's pretty much the only way to go for a street/dd setup.

I am building this car for the street and not the track and I lowered it using progressive springs, upgraded all bushings and IRS components to eliminate wheel hop and improve traction and I am running 295x20x35R, 275x35x20F with 3:55 gears on an auto and love it. It will work if I decide to take it to the drag strip too but I won't :)

Blower is being installed next Friday.
