So I have this whirring/metallic swirling sound coming from under the shifter. It usually happens appears after the car has been driven for 20+ minutes and is all warmed up. It only happens under load and is present in all gears. It gets louder as RPM's increase. Car has about 40k miles on it. Clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, Pilot bearing and throw out bearing were all replaced last August. BG Sychromesh went in about 2 months ago. Everything feels fine when shifting, no changes in driveability either, it's just this weird sound that I can't figure out. Dealership said the transmission was fine when I had the clutch system replaced. This transmission has become a money pit at this point so im hoping it's just an MT82 being an MT82. I started noticing the sound about 1 week ago.

Does the noise change at all if you hold the shifter reverse lockout ring? Might be coming from the shifter instead of the transmission itself. What's it do if you pop the shifter into neutral and coast?

The noise completely goes away if I go into neutral and coast. Putting any pressure on the shifter doesn't seem to be making any difference. I took it to the dealer and they told me it sounds just fine, but im sure they've done that with many people on this forum. I don't know that much about these transmissions but from what I've heard they can be noisy so im hoping it's just that.
