Strange noise

So today I went to check the oil level in my JLT catch can and I hear a strange whirring noise every few seconds from the front passenger side of the engine compartment. The engine is not running and it’s been probably 30 minutes or more since I shut it off. The noise starts and goes for about 5-10 seconds and stops then does it again about 20 seconds later. Any ideas?

If you unlock your car, the car preps for start-up and may bring ancillary pumps/electronics online, etc.

If it sits unlocked for a while, you will sometimes hear the electronics cycle, or power down. Is this what you are hearing, or is it an actual noise.

Electric cooling fan? Likely not on the long of a delay but just my guess.

It could have been the fuel pump or something. It’s an 18 so I’m sure it has a booster for the direct injection or something. I did notice that I had the driver’s side door open so I had unlocked the doors to open the hood.
