I will be storing my car for 4 months. Would the battery be ok if I unplug it completely during that time?

Ok, I just found out my charger has a "maintenance mode". I think that should work, the manual says it will keep the battery from draining once fully charged.

That should do the trick. Also leave a window cracked a 1/2 inch or so. Make sure the tires are full, a few extra PSI will be a benefit. 4 months isn't that long really, no need for fuel stabilizer, just fill it up as close to the storage place as possible.

Without a battery tender, eventually the battery will completely discharge. Most batteries will not hold a complete charge after that!. Also, if you are going to store the car in a very cold climate, a discharged battery will tend to freeze up, expand, and burst its case. With a battery tender running...the Mustang's electronics will not have to re-booted when you take it out of storage.

It will be in there from July until November, my plan was to take the battery out completely and use the maintenance mode on the charger. It will be indoors but will also be under an all weather car cover. Should I still have a window cracked while under the car cover?

Of course a tender is the best idea but modern batteries will be fine if you store them up to 6 months disconnected.
