I installed a GT350 wheel a while back, and I noticed that the wheel is turned slightly to the right when driving straight. My car is lowered and I've had an alignment done, and all the specs look great. I don't believe the OEM wheel was off center, even after lowering the car. Can this be fixed without swapping steering wheels, and if so, how? Thanks in advance for the help!

That's strange. If your OEM wheel was straight, I would assume your new one should be straight as well. Obviously nothing you did should've changed the alignment.

I haven't personally installed a GT350 wheel. Does it go on "one" way or is it possible you just didn't install it perfectly straight?

I had an alignment done recently after getting new tires and my wheel was slightly off center when driving straight. It was minor but enough where it annoyed me. Took it back and they fixed it very easily. That was through alignment. Yours sounds like it could be an installation issue assuming there are no other variables.

Its possible it wasn't installed perfectly straight. There's probably 5 degrees of play before you tighten down the one main nut. Its pretty easy to throw it on there with a little right leaning bias if you aren't careful with the install.

If its off by more than a little, then my answer changes to 'wheel alignment'.

IIRC, you basically put it around a hexagonal nut, so if you misaligned it, it would be WAY off, and not just a couple degrees.

Thanks for the info--I couldn't remember if that was the case or not. That amount of play would likely account for how much it's off. I'll try to strong arm the wheel to the left while I re-torque the nut. I was beginning to wonder if the wheel was just made slightly incorrectly.

Thanks for the help!

Did ever get this fixed? I'm having the same issue. I tried reinstalling the wheel and keeping it perfectly straight and it didn't help.

I've had this problem before on another car after an alignment. They didn't have the steering wheel centered when they adjusted the outer tie rods causing the car to go straight down the road when the steering wheel was slightly turned to the right.

During alignment you can adjust the wheel i did this after i swapped to my CD wheel with the red centering stripe it was slightly off. Its something that can be done during the alignment process

I had the same issue. I discussed with the business that I bought the wheel from and they stated this is a common issue with GT350 sterling wheels. Kinda odd tho.

Anyhoo, I had it realigned and all fixed.

Probably one of my favorite mods.
