Do you know what the top speed or theoretical top speed should be in 5th and 6th gear given our gearing?
Thanks Brett!Ok, so today got on the freeway and based on speed at 2,000 rpm, the theoretical top sped in 5th would be 202.3 mph and 259.8 mph in 6th. Neither of which are possible as the car is likely drag limited in high 180's.
HELL YEAH!!!!I just put the steeda tune on mine and you can really tell a difference from 2 to 3000 rpm. Feels like it got a big kick in the tail! Haven't revved her out yet but cant wait to pull 7600 now! Sounds a little deeper now also. Air fuel changed a good deal.
That would be right by the butt dyno! Biggest difference is the torque you pick up below the curve! Throttle response is much better, especially off on throttle through the curves!I called Steeda yesterday and Brian said the hp increase was 5-10% more torque and hp. He said the biggest change is the throttle response. No lag. How does this compare to you Bullittheads that have used the Steeda tune? I used the track apps to do a 0-60 and it is very difficult to launch. Even with launch control. Either spin the tires or bogs down.
The video from steeda has pre and postI'd still like to see a dyno pre and post tune.
With the tuner, doing a custom tune on THAT car. That's not the same as a mail order tune on another car.The video from steeda has pre and post
Is this your car, Fishhook?
That doesn't mean much. When I had my Mach1 I made 274whp stock. Added 4.10, catback, midpipe, crank puller, intake tube, intake spacer: 276whp on Lunds email tune for my mods. Custom tune was 300whp.My opinion is that Steeda is a quality company. I have dealt with them on 5 different Mustangs. I believe the tune shown will be similar to the one they will mail order. I would rather have a datalogged tune, but that costs more. Like most aftermarket tunes that are provided from sources like Bama, Lund, Brenspeed, etc, once they have the stock mapping down most cars will fall in very, very close. Steeda's tune is designed for minimum octane of 91. My experience has been the torque aftermarket tunes provide on my previous 4.6 and 5.0 Mustangs off idle which I am hoping for, like Fishhook stated. For $600 including the tuner I believe it is a good deal. The 0-3000 is what I'm looking for as well as higher HP in the higher RPMs. Once you have the tuner you are always able to use it for other vendors' tunes or a custom tune or when you put a blower on it.
I went to the local dragstrip Saturday to see what times I could make, but they did not update their website properly or something and they were closed. A before and after run would be great!
My guess is that Ford would have run into gas guzzler issues if they put more gas in to the lower rpms. Making more power, sure, but worse mileage. As for me, I didn't buy the Bullitt for gas mileage : )
I plan to. Once I find out how good the tune actually is.Do whatever you want to do.
