I think everyone has missed that flat ‘nut’ on your photo is too thin to be a nut, it’s a washer.

Then there was a Steeda photo, showing that flat washer.

Then there’s Steeda’s toe link instructions, showing that flat washer.

That flat washer sits nicely between the two raised sections, I would hazard a guess that it’s square because it uses those raised sections for location.

All I’m saying is I would be cautious going in guns a blazing as I’m not sure they have messed everything up, I think they have missed the flat nut insert and the final bolt :like:

THIS is what the install should look like. Your shop installed them wrong, and obviously changed the mounting hardware on your toe link, and used the Steeda parts there. Did you have them install a Steeda toe link kit too? I don't think they make anything that is just replacing the inner bolts, but not 100% sure.

A perfect example why NO ONE touches my car unless it is a warranty issue. I don't know if I would trust them to correct it. I can think of NO reason why they did what they did.

This is not a washer or spacer, it is a flat nut that slides into the IRS subframe for bolting one of two rear points on the ladder brace. Hard to tell by the picture, but it is about the thickness of a nut. Though in looking at the original picture, those do not look like the flat nut.

It looks like they repurposed them to the the toe link. Possible Steeda included the spacer instead of the flat nuts? If I recall, the front hole of the two was threaded, and the flat nut was used for the rear.

We agree, I think ... lol

Yeah I have the Steeda stuff here (but have yet to fit it), so I can physically see it / hold it etc

I agree, the flat nut is thick.

The silver square thing in the OP’s picture looks more like a washer thickness (rather than the IRS brace flat nut) - and it’s in the same position that Steeda show that a washer should be fitted in their toe link instructions :

I don’t think the installer stole things from the irs braces to fit the toe links - I just think he missed out / lost / couldn’t be arsed fitting the flat nut to the IRS braces.

Guys,

I think its just the subframe brace which is missing a bolt.

The Toe Link looks as it is on the Steeda Fitting paperwor.

Here is the Steeda fitment image:

Here is my fitment on the car:

The only thing I will ask is about the appearance of the gold looking washer. I will confirm that this is correct!

So.. the shop I've taken it to.... They have done a number of these, and none of them have a rear bolt, oddly.

They are now fitting a couple of bolts, and will see how we go!
