Steeda Rear Spring Spacer. Need Input.

Hi All,

I am running BMR SP088R drag springs / Viking Crusaders in the back of the car with stock springs and struts up front. The car is currently raked slightly in the back even with a Steeda 3/8” spacer. I have a Steeda 1/2” spacer on the way for replacement to bring up the back of the car. Do you think the 1/2” spacer will bring the car up enough or should I get a local machine shop to fabricate a 3/4” aluminum spacer?

The car is too low in the rear for my liking.

Whatever you choose, remember that the spacer will raise the car approximately double the thickness of the spacer.

Why not lower the front to match? The springs dropped the rear 0.5".

With the condition of some of our roads, I need to raise the car higher. Even back to stock height. I DD the car in the summer and also haul around my wife and 2 small children.

From the ground to the bottom of my wheel arch in the fender is about 27 1/2” if my memory serves me correctly. Front is about 28” or so.

The 1/4" spacers will raise it back to stock height.

I have a 3/8” spacer in now and I’m still much lower than before.

I have the 1/2” on the way.

I am just curious if this will be enough.

Something is wrong. With those springs and 3/8" spacer you will be higher than stock if everything is correct.

I apologize, I have the 1/4” spacer in my car. It’s been a long day. I have the 3/8” spacer on the way. Hopefully that will bring it up enough.

Side note: I still don’t know how a 1/4” spacer will raise a car by 1/2”. Lol.

Because the motion ratio of the spring to wheel is 0.49. Every inch the wheel moves, there is 0.49" of spring movement.

Also I would strongly recommend that you run bumpstops if you value your shock mounting.

Hi Brian,

I have the OEM bump stops and sleeves on now and trimmed to spec as per BMR. This photo was taken over the winter when I finished all the suspension upgrades. The car never had the bump stops with the original / previous setup.
