I already purchased BMR front springs because I was tired of trying to fix this. I hope Steeda can help as I have not installed the BMRs yet.

Also have steeda g-trac, subframe alignment kit and their irs support pieces

Hi guys, there's little I can do right now since it's Sunday, and just so you know we tried a bunch of times to replicate this scenario. If there's something needed from our end, rest assured we'll deliver. I just want to touch-base with my techs and engineers before going further. Hope you gents enjoy your Sunday!
I pulled my Progressives out today, the clunking noise was coil bind it appears to be ?
I have a pic of one of the springs and you can see the sharp wear mark

its on both springs in 2 places on each spring, .I guess it was not an install issue after all .....David
Let me know what you think

Are these issues just some specific defects possibly?

I just got my progressive springs delivered this week and now I'm scared of getting these installed.

I wonder if the people who claim they have no noise are just not as sensitive to it? My friend didn't notice the clunking until I really pointed it out to him.

I also have the noise and have BMR minimum drops in my garage ready to go but I am waiting to see what happens in the strut world before I swap because I don't want to do the job twice more.

I do have a Whipple and the springs dropped more than they were supposed to so it is most likely the case but why is it I've never had this happen before on eibach springs with Whipples?

Here is my fix for this problem. I have seen Whiteline has the same thing. Went to Home Depot in the wiring section and picked some wire loom. We will see how this holds up. It was only $3.00

Is there anyone that has this issue close enough to drive over to Steeda, so they can hear it and check it out up on a lift?

I believe they have office Georgia....I think

I'm glad we at least figured out what the noise was

I agree....except not we...it was you that made the connection for me....thank you very much.

Clearly it was driving many of us crazy.

Yes thank you. It beats the repeated people saying we installed the things wrong.

I also want to say I don't believe this is an issue with steedas quality at all. I love how the car looks with the springs and the ride. I think it's just the nature of progressive springs.
You could be onto something since my Eibach's did the same thing.

They deffinitely rub. The question now is, is that bad? Does that impact handling or anything else on the car negatively?

Its slight, but coil bind should never happen with any spring for any
application . Now I need to search out why I chose progressive over
linear in the first place . :frusty:

They have sold a ton of progressive springs with zero issues. Me being one of them. Mine have been on 7.5 months, lots and lots of corner carving, absolutely ZERO noise.

Install them and enjoy:cheers:

Do you have the time and willingness to pull the front wheels on your car and see if you have the same wear marks as us?

Would be an interesting test given you have had yours on so long.
