Honestly not at the moment, I'll touch-base with the team though.
Thanks much. Really appreciate staying close to this for the few folks that are impacted.

In the interim, I am going to buy the quick fix.

Sorry but I don't see that as a good fix. The coils are rubbing and making contact! Anyway hope it works out for you. This has been a very frustrating experience for me at least.

I don't think doing anything else will stop them from rubbing other than changing the springs. There's actually some companies that sell their lowering springs with silencers on them already. I don't believe it's affected the ride quality or anything due to them occasionally hitting each other over bumps. Mine was just a little clinking noise over certain bumps. I'm happy with them now. It's possible yours is something else I'm not sure. Pull the wheel and at least check if the rubbing is your problem

Please understand I greatly appreciate you posting the fix. I was not trying to down it. We've torn mine apart too many times trying to chase this down.

I completely understand that it's frustrating. Did you notice any wear marks?

I am just glad we are getting somewhere on this.

We have root cause of the noise I think.

We can use Five0GT's sweet cheap solution and let our Steeda team figure out why a few of us are experiencing this.

Guys I fixed it! 100% no noise now. I tried tightening the strut nut on top and checked the end link nuts(they were tight). Still had noise. The springs were touching when hitting bumps. I bought some Tein silencers and put them on the springs and the noise is gone. It can be done with the springs still on the car. Just look at the spring for any wear marks and move your hand along the whole thing to feel for any wear. Make sure you don't put 2 silencers above and below each other. I used a silencer at the top of the spring and cut another into smaller pieces and placed them where I saw wear marks. Tein silencers. $5 a pair. Get a pair for each side(even tho only my passenger side clunked). I see some people had noise on drivers side and some people had none. I guess everyone's car is different as far as weight. Also make sure to order the large diameter silencers(130mm). I will also post a few pics.

I also want to say I don't believe this is an issue with steedas quality at all. I love how the car looks with the springs and the ride. I think it's just the nature of progressive springs.
Based on one of your pictures, I have an idea what's happening. But I'll let David and the team at Steeda handle it from here.

I was just thinking about it. Not sure if this is possible but maybe the people with noise have over tightened the strut nut on top. This would most likely put more pressure on the springs which would make them compress closer and hit each other. I started thinking about this when I tightened the strut nut and actually noticed there was a little more noise than I had in the first place. Either way the silencers fixed it.

But then again I think with the threads it can only really get so tight. So I guess it just comes down to the non pp shocks combined with bad roads.
Tension in the strut's piston rod does not go below the strut mount, so the amount of spring compression (you might think of this as preload) is not affected.

Figured as much.

Any thoughts on why a very few are having this issue?
Slight differences in front end weight (different options) and build tolerances on the struts and springs come to mind.

Is it at all possible we were accidentally supplied ecoboost springs designed around a lighter front end? My box read GT progressives but was just wondering.

I have blower on. My springs do compress and hit. I put on rubber fuel line hose over a couple spots as a test a couple weeks ago and it stopped. Mine are 100% rubbing against each other.

I am hoping to get a refund from my vendor. I have ordered replacement springs.
My Eibachs did not rub on my first s550 and it had a blower to.

According to my Google-Fu, that looks like coil bind ... probably not something you particularly want.

Coil Bind Diagnosis

When I reached out to David@Steeda initially, he said the following: "When we tested these in-house, we could not achieve coil bind with the front springs, so coil bind wouldn't be the issue."

They deffinitely rub. The question now is, is that bad? Does that impact handling or anything else on the car negatively?

I'll defer to a certified mechanic and a call may be warranted. However, if the spring is completely bound (i.e. all coils rubbing) I think that would indicate the boundary of suspension travel under compression thereby putting undue stress on the rest of the components. I'm not sure how much the bump stops protect against this ... not to mention the ride will be harsh and noisy.

The bottom line is the springs are designed to not bind at all so something is clearly wrong (e.g. Eco/V6 springs vs. GT, etc.). I'm sure David@Steeda will figure out what's going on. Too many people have used these without issue for there to be a fundamental design flaw.

Hi guys, there's little I can do right now since it's Sunday, and just so you know we tried a bunch of times to replicate this scenario. If there's something needed from our end, rest assured we'll deliver. I just want to touch-base with my techs and engineers before going further. Hope you gents enjoy your Sunday!

Roger that, David. Let us know how it shakes out. Thanks for posting so much this weekend and letting us know you are on the case.

I had the same thought to be honest with you. Lets see what David and Steeda come back with on this
