Is it good to use these springs with other suspension parts being stock? I read somewhere that if you just install springs you won't get the full benefit because since the springs and shocks work together, changing your spring rate means you should put different shocks on to match, and bushings I think too. This article was saying that the suspension is several parts working together to produce the ride quality and so "tuning" is important - getting the right mix of all the parts.
True, but there are not a lot of options out for the S550's yet in the strut and shock market.

I’ve had Steeda’s progressive springs with their sway bars installed last week, 4 wheel alignment was performed. Braking nose dive is greatly reduced, the bouncy ride is gone and the handling is awesome. The car feels glued to the ground and I still clear all the speed bumps in town, another plus. There is absolutely no noise or clunking under any circumstance, very pleased.
Thanks for sharing, Bob!

Any thought on this? The sway bar nut... what would happen if it fell out during a ride? Just loss of some handling capabilities or is the whole side gone?
The car will still be entirely drivable, at least from the "no, the suspension on that corner isn't going to collapse" point of view. Drag racers will probably be removing the front bar entirely, without necessarily changing anything else up front.

You'll get more roll in the corners, you'll hit one wheel bumps a littler softer, and handling will be "off" from what you're accustomed to.

I think of more immediate concern is whether an endlink that breaks loose at one end can find its way to gouging a tire sidewall. I don't have an answer.

What Scott said. Hopefully a variety of good shock and strut options will show up for the S550 quicker than happened for the S197 (and be done somewhere near right from the get-go - it took until 2010 for the sta-bar tabs on S197 Koni yellows to stop cracking at the welds).

For most people, going only as far as the shocks and struts is going to be good enough. Bushing mods are for those who are far more serious, typically being involved in some sort of competition or road course HPDEs.

So i was completely convinced to go with the Progressive set on my car but now after talking to some other guys and doing some homework it seems that the Ultra-lites may be the better option overall. Thoughts?

Put me in the drivers side noise when going over speed bumps camp.

I emailed Dave of steeda and he got back to me.....I am planning to chat with a tech when I get some time.

I did it myself and it was my first time...I hope to fix it soon

Couldn't find any spring rate information for either of them, which kind of leaves it at the "progressive vs linear" discussion level (the Ultralites are linear per Steeda - http://www.steeda.com/steeda-mustang-ultralite-springs-linear-2015-ecoboost-555-8213/ ).

Hey bud, did you try using some red loctite on the sway bar end link nuts? I know you mentioned it was your first time doing the install, and I'm not questioning your capabilities whatsoever, just want to ensure everything was installed as it should.

My abilities are very questionable....haha...no offense here.

Every time I pull the wheel, the nut is tight as can be

I responded to your email and it was returned back to me

Good luck. Mine still makes noise. We tore it back apart and even removed both end links completely and tied the sway bar out of the way. If you figure out what it is do tell

I was listening to my noise today and it sounds exactly like my SN95 did after I installed Eibach springs. Almost a "jingle" sound for the holidays. On a positive note, my exhaust no longer hits and makes noise.

Guys I fixed it! 100% no noise now. I tried tightening the strut nut on top and checked the end link nuts(they were tight). Still had noise. The springs were touching when hitting bumps. I bought some Tein silencers and put them on the springs and the noise is gone. It can be done with the springs still on the car. Just look at the spring for any wear marks and move your hand along the whole thing to feel for any wear. Make sure you don't put 2 silencers above and below each other. I used a silencer at the top of the spring and cut another into smaller pieces and placed them where I saw wear marks. Tein silencers. $5 a pair. Get a pair for each side(even tho only my passenger side clunked). I see some people had noise on drivers side and some people had none. I guess everyone's car is different as far as weight. Also make sure to order the large diameter silencers(130mm). I will also post a few pics.

I also want to say I don't believe this is an issue with steedas quality at all. I love how the car looks with the springs and the ride. I think it's just the nature of progressive springs.

Dont we just love NY roads, i never had this happen and i tried ecer progessive spring on the market, i bet you have a non PP car right? The base shocks can not handle our roads you will eventually kill them quick around here
