Steeda jacking rails

Hello everyone, First time posting, long time reader...Does anyone know why the Steeda jacking rails don't sit parallel to the ground? They sit at a 10 degree angle towards the middle of the car. In other words the outside edge is lower than the inside edge. When I jack up the car, or place it on jack stands, only the outside edge of the rail is in contact with the jack or stands. Anyone else notice this? Steeda says its normal but I'm the only person ever to ask about it. If you have these, take a level to it and see what you think. Thanks

Yes, I also noticed that too..wonder why it's never mentioned by anyone? The first time I placed it on my stands, it tore through the rubber covers.

I've seen mention of it before, didn't seem to affect their ability to do their job, so I ordered them anyways.

The chassis/floorpan deflects inwards along that span and the rails straddle the slope. This is unlikely to cause an issue.

For reference, if you went with stock that sat flush you would have a narrower lifting surface and could potentially experience yield strength issues or jack slip.

Mine do the same thing. Never gave it much thought since the rails were sitting flush against that bottom portion of the rail.

It's true, the Steeda jacking rails do cant inwards, so they are not flat. The mounting pads on the car's body have this tilt, so the rail being perfectly straight causes the entire rail to have the same angle. Doesn't bother me, my jack, or my jackstands, so I don't care....closeup pic below.

If it really bothers you, the BMR units are clocked so they sit level. FWIW, if you are jacking up one side, the rail relative to the jack pad will be tilting inward as the car goes up in the air, so it's likely in some scenario with either product, you will have lack of parallelism,

Thanks, great pic, more curious than bothered. It did seem very sturdy when up in the air. Didn't know that about the BMR. Definitely keeping the Steeda rails.
