I should also disclose the wife drives a 2015 Camry hybrid. We fit fine in that. However when the kids prefer to go in the stang is where I wish it was more comfortable for them. So I guess what I want is a Swiss Army knife. :D
I think we found the problem, it's not you it's the kids! If you were to get anything else, would they still want to ride in your car since it is not a cool mustang? You said you have another car to haul everyone in so why get rid of your toy for even more practicality? Sounds like you have the people/grocery hauler vehicle already.

Who says the Mustang isn't practical?

Power? Check
Fun to drive? Check
Big trunk? Check
Interior room? Well... you can fit 3 people. 1 in the driver's seat, 1 in the passenger seat, a half person in the driver's side rear seat and a half person in the passenger side rear seat.

Plus, you can tow with your Stallion.

I Fit 6 people in my car last week. 2 in the front, 4 in the back. Top down or top up, they "fit" lol...

OP lives in Arizona, so maybe an SUV doesn't make sense. Us in states with 4 seasons, kinda have no choice but to have at least 1 truck or SUV in the family.

I like the Lincoln MKZ. Roomy, in the family, has some power. ?!?

Put the kids in an Uber and have the driver meet you where ever your headed to, lol...

Wow, this thread is literally someone who is lucky enough to have a wife and family, reliable transportation (one of which is a sweet Mustang), and he whines and bitches that he doesn't have EVERYTHING.

North Korea it's time to nuke us.

I'm sticking with the stang. I'll wait to see what next year brings with the wife's replacement car.

I'm 5'11" and I only need to move the seat up a few inches. They fit a little tight but for around town that's fine. I don't know if I can do that for a long road trip. Worst case we rent a minivan for long trips. That was the plan already but obviously now I'm changing my mind with wanting the swiss army knife of cars.

Uber.... :D

The fuck? Hopefully you first.

Are you even reading the same thread?

I don't see the OP whining, I see him thinking out loud.

If you like your Mustang and you have a family vehicle, keep it.

I went through the same thought process as you. I bought my 15 GT since I missed my beloved 13 GT that I had to sell due to unforeseen family medical issues. I had my car for 1.5 years and while I enjoyed it, it wasn't the same, and I didn't really enjoy it at the end.

My wife always has a Jeep so having a vehicle for the family was never the issue. Although the wife hated riding in the Mustang and it was always a chore to put my son in the backseat.

I looked at the 300S and loved it, only thing missing was the 392. When I saw Dodge was going to offer the Charger in green, I jumped.

I don't necessarily miss my Mustang. I do miss the better community and stronger aftermarket.

Now we can take whatever car we want, I still have my V8 RWD and can fit my family no problem. Plus my wife actually wants to take this car for the day... or week, never wanted to with the Mustang.

I say do a track day and see where your head is at.

He's saying he misses having more everyday practicality..that's hardly whining and bitching.

Based on your "lovely" post history, you won't be here long. I suggest maybe you clean up your act before you're shown the door.

So glad I'm healthy at 67 to have THE most practical car for my needs...single, no family, trunk holds all the groceries, no trips to Big Lots but amazing weekend top-down rides that erase all my cares and worries!

Man, if had to think about giving up the car right now for practicality, I'd definitely just be leasing some cheap economy car. I could lease a 17 Camry right now for like 225/mo with almost nothing down. I'd go that route way before giving up my fun car and I actually almost did. Fortunately for me, I found a beater Ranger for 1000 bucks that will last me a long long time

You need a 10+ yr old Japanese beater/daily driver. My 15 yr old Acura daily is my workhorse & a solid/reliable car, but as weird as it sounds, I look forward to bringing out the 5.0 on weekends. Sort of like a reward for all my hard work during the week...

For practicality, the imminently-releasing 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T with either the 6-manual or 10-auto is looking pretty good. The design cues of the long hood, blunt reverse-raked front end and the fastback roofline are evocative. Heck the darn thing even has a clamshell hood. Add the limo-lounging backseat room and nearly 17 cu.ft trunk, and it's nearly the perfect package. I can imagine some converts crossing over from Ecoboost Mustangs.

Me? I'd get one... if Honda'd squeeze a screaming V8 and and rear drive into that body.

If I hadn't bout the mustang, that would have been my immediate choice. Amazing car.
