Starting in second in drag mode 10r80

Could someone point me in right direction for starting off in second in drag mode while on trans brake or share some trans files so I can get a rough idea. Roush supercharged car makes 755 I feel on street no prep frist is to steep just purchased a mvpi3 been studying there software

My 2018 GT 10 speed with 3.0L Whipple also had a circle d converter in it and mcleod steel/friction upgrade. Lund Racing tuned the car and I launched the car in 2nd gear off the footbrake. Went consistent 1.27 60fts on MT ET street R's with a personal best ET of 8.64@157. The car was smooth as can be.

@Scuba420 are you asking specifically about the trans brake in 2nd, or starting in 2nd in drag mode? I’ve been told that the hpt trans brake patch doesn’t work in 2nd so you may be out of luck. That said, you may be able to use some load or torque limiters in 1st to reduce wheel torque.

I would like to start in second in drag mode but yes I would be using trans brake as well frist gear is to short for me I think

Starting in 2nd is easy to setup in hpt if it doesn’t work now. 2nd gear transbrake, not so easy.

I have mine set up to allow 1st or 2nd gear starts in selectshift-sport mode, while also upshifting at wot (some call this roll-race mode).

Starting in 2nd is easy to setup in hpt if it doesn’t work now. 2nd gear transbrake, not so easy.

This is what I wonna do if possible

For the transbrake, we sell the 10r Stager

As far as second gear, leave that really needs to be set up in your tune with your tuner mean, you could do it manual mode shifting yourself, but you gotta be really fast with this transmission

I would have a good competent Tuner do a file for you

As far as second gear, leave that really needs to be set up in your tune with your tuner mean, you could do it manual mode shifting yourself, but you gotta be really fast with this transmission

That was me that just ordered the mpvi3 from you terry I am very familiar with haltech . Hp tuners is new to me thing is a lot of tuners like to lock tunes mines unlocked at the moment I kinda wonna learn this software my self I just bought 3 mustangs if u know someone who would add this file for me point me in right direction

it may not be enough power for a good 2nd gear leave, but on the street may work well. just have to try it out!!!

Don’t need a tune for 2nd gear launch in drag mode. Just put shifter in S and tap up paddle. Don’t forget to select drag mode and disable traction control.

Then nudge shifter up to D after launch. All subsequent shifts will have the drag mode hit.

If you have access to the tune file through HP Tuners it’s pretty easy to set it up. The way mine works for a second gear launch is I put the shifter in S, put the mode in whatever I want, paddle shift to second gear at a stop, and then I can go WOT without touching anything else and it still shifts.

I don’t even need to actually engage drag mode if I don’t want to. I have the shift characters set up to give me drag mode shift properties with the shifter in S and paddles engaged.

That was a 3.55 rear gear on those 2nd gear leaves?
