Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

Sometimes when I start the engine I give it a little gas (the roar of the engine always puts a smile on my face) but when I do this I notice the rpm's drop very low and sometimes the car stalls out.

Is this normal for our cars? I've never had this issue with any other Mustang.

I have a GTPP.

Startup procedure states that your foot should not be on the throttle. It's throttle by wire and you're messing with the computer trying to pull everything together at startup. It ain't your daddy's carbureted car.

mine has done this as well. As soon I start it up sometimes I will give it a quick rev and then the car would die lol so I don't do it anymore

You people need to learn to let your cars warm up! Engines have come a long way in the last 100 years but "cold" fluids are still cold fluids and engines need warm fluids. It is odd that your engine stalls with throttle. Do you have anymore information? You have given us nothing to work with to help you.

If it's a cold start the engine makes a good roar so no need to give it gas. Warm start well I guess I see the point to make noise because its not as exciting as a cold start

I know it's not the best idea to Rev a cold engine but sometimes I can't help myself.

As for more information... Not sure what else I can offer.... At startup if I give the car a little gas after the rpm's start to come down they will drop really low then the engine shudders and sometimes stalls out.

Page 122 of the operator's manual:

Before starting the engine, check the following
.
.
.
.
NOTE: Do not touch the accelerator pedal
NOTE: You must have your intelligent key in the vehicle in order to shift the transmission of position P.
1. Fully press the brake pedal
2. Press the button.

under STARTING A GASOLINE ENGINE
When you start the engine, the idle speed increases...

Your computer wants to control this whole procedure until the engine starts and "settles." Just sayin'. Maybe your old car liked it. My '13 GT didn't.

I let my car idle until the idle settles down to normal range. It is terrible to free rev a cold engine.

This is just nonsense. Treat your car nice and it will reward you for years to come.
