Staggered wheel radius?

Back in 2005, the "thing" to do was to have the front wheel an inch (or two) taller than the back to help with the illusion of the back being larger aside from just getting a wider wheel and/or putting more aggressive rubber on it. Made it look like there was more rubber on the back. Pretty standard thing back then anyway. (pic example included)

Just curious, but is that not done anymore? Has it just fallen out of style? Comments appreciated.

Actually it still is done, all depends on the application and the car, now cars have all electronic suspension ( for instance the Shelby) so larger consideration has to be taken for the OD to be within the preferred range.
