I had the stage 1 on my Bullitt. It sounded sooo good with the setting on "normal". On quiet I remember distinctly the car being quieter than stock.
My car didn't backfire. It gurgled awesomely. Best exhaust note I have ever heard.
Like others have said, you probably need a custom tune from Lund or PB.
Good luck. But, something is wrong with the tune.

Whipple tune has the "Crakle" thing added to their tunes. Hence your pops. I have a stage 2 on my 19, never used the whipple tune, I already had lund, zero pops from mine. Catless long tubes, tru x and active exhaust. I wouldnt mind a pop here and there but nothing what so ever

FYI, there has been no change on the exhaust. Just added the supercharger.
When contacted directly Whipple said that they would gladly address the problems.
I am in Vancouver, Dale Adams is in Calgary.
I have some good news !!!
Jeff and the other techie boys at Whipple have reprogramed my Chip and I now have 95% smoothness with the gas pedal and the major backfire problem is now at 80% good : ))
Jeff tells me that of all the Mustang models, the BULLITT is the only one with this major problem and that they are still working on making it even better. I must say that Jeff as been first class with his helping me to make certain that may BULLITT is working properly. After the next reprogram/tune my local tuner fellow says that he can get my BULLITT close to 900 HP.
Zoom, Zoom Baby : ))

UPDATE!!!
The driveability is really good. The 2nd and 3rd (sometimes) shifts has the car going sideways on my 265s. Just great power for only 6.5 PSI!
Am I reading this right? So with an A10 and procharger.... once it goes from 2nd to 3rd gear... the car will start going sideways?

I see you have safe and smart in your sig, does that mean you have ACC too? if so does it still work with the procharger kit or install affected the sensor area?

I have 3:15 gears and square stock 19" tire set up and thought the procharger stage 1 ho would let me drive normally from a dig below 3000 rpm, not doing WOT, but build up power and speed when already moving, meaning top end is available, but car can drive normal during city commute. my A10 often shifts to 10 even at 45-50 mph stock in normal mode? or I have to really upgrade tires and other stuff like PD blowers really need cause the power band is already increased at low end.

The nice thing about the ProCharger is that it will drive like stock completely with a little more torque at the low RPMs but when you put your foot in it it's easy to control and linear. Even though you have 315 gears you have 10 speeds which means first and second are still fairly low. In fact I think that the 315 cars were faster than the quarter mile from what I've seen. Because they don't get the wheel spin as much.

You will truly enjoy the ProCharger.

I am interested in how do you compare the low end torque from the whipple against what you just described here about the ProCharger?
