Hey guys, yesterday I installed an x-pipe on my 2015 V6 and was really disappointed as it didn't make that significant difference to the sound of the car (I still have the stock mufflers)

Any ideas please??

P.s. The x-pipe is for the GT but I had a local shop cut it etc.

While a resonator delete works well on the GT, the V6 has more restrictive mufflers. The better solution would have been to leave the resonator and delete the mufflers. I would suggest that you delete the mufflers and get a pair of thrush turbos or the like. Will be cheap and should sound good coupled with the X pipe.

I only got the SR performance x-pipe installed yesterday, as i said it sounds just a bit different and the car feels much lighter, I'll make a video and post it soon

So you did a resonator delete but kept the stock muffler correct?

The stock mufflers are fairly quiet on these cars. If u install a set of Roush or other axle-backs the sound will really wake up.

My problem is that I hate drone and never wanna get any, that's why I went with the x-pipe

So now I'm looking for decent mufflers to give me a deep tone with no drone! It rhymes lol

Are you getting any drone with the current setup? I have asked the local muffler shop about using stuff from GT and they said that they don't recommend using a larger diameter tubing in the mid-part of the exhaust for backpressure and stuff.

Nope no drone.
I don't think it affects anything since the GT pipes are 2.5" and V6 pipes are 2.25", but this question is for the experts.

Oh that's my bad:doh: I asked them about using GT corsa extreme xpipes which is a 3 inch pipe. They said 3 inch would be kind of a big jump. 2.5 is gonna be okay:)

Please post a video tho, interested in your setup
