Square 295/40/20?

Hey guys, just picked up some SVE GT350's and looking for some tires. I see a lot of 275/35/20 but I like a little more rubber, and more sidewall wouldn't hurt.

But would there be rubbing issues? I'm PP at stock height, but before the end of the year I plan on Getting the BMR Performance springs, would I have issues with those? I like having a taller too because a 295/40/20 is nearly perfect to make my gear ratio 3.55, compared to the 3.73 with my stock tires. And I would not complain about any extra mpg I could get

I wouldn't do it. Pretty sure 295s wont easily fit the front, and a 40 series on a 20" wheel is going to be significantly taller than stock.

Not to mention it would look really goofy.

If you want the 3.55 gearing, you are better off putting the 3.55s in and getting tires that are properly sized for the car.

This^, you would be going from a 27.7" tire diameter to a 29.3". Your 3.73 rear gear will end up with an effective ratio of 3.52 .

I have a 295/30/20 square setup with no rubbing. Wheels are 40 offset 10" wide. 295/35/20 is a little bit taller but may still fit... I'd stay away from the 295/40/20 way too tall (even if the size theoretically helps your gear ratio)

Even a 295 35 20 can be a bit tall in the front because the stock strut lower spring seat a 295 40 20 is definitely way too tall.
