Yep, you need them. Do a search on here, tons of info. Many different options, some clip on, some use pins/double sided tape. I have CPC (California Pony Cars), about $76 for front pair, they stick out a little more than the ZL1 addons version for a little more protection. Unfortunately no one makes a pair that have the exact pattern the stock rear ones have, but the color on these is similar. Prior to putting them on I noticed a bunch of chips in front of my rear wheels from the front tires kicking up rocks, and I have never been on a dirt/rock road. I have heard no one makes splash guards large enough to eliminate rocks from hitting the panel in front of the rear wheels that flares out a bit. Many people recommend a stick on clear film in front of the rear wheels for the best protection in addition to splash guards, but I'm not a fan of stickers. BTW don't get JLT rock blockers, WAY too small, useless. I have them too and put the CPC splash guards right over them making them pointless now.
Agreed, but have a mental block against placing stickers on my car. Would be smart to do it!
I agree the JLT rock blockers do block rocks from getting on the rocker panels, so they have their place. After noticing at least a dozen very small chips in the paint in front of each rear wheel with only about 3,000 miles on the car I realized this car needs more... In my opinion you don't notice the splash guards, especially since they are similar to the rear ones on the car from the factory.
Yeah I had the same issue but luckily found the chips much sooner…not soon enough but oh well. And I guess different people notice different things. The splash guards stick out like a sore thumb to me. The Xpel seems to give you issues. Ironically enough no one that has seen my car has even been able to see the Xpel until I pointed it out to them.
Ditto -- right protection for our cars.
Doubtful - they're pretty minimal but effective. I have them on my car and saw no ill effects. (Pic is from the Jaeger Bros site, not my own car).
