no, you wouldn't need a tune,

kind of opposite, when we do a tune for you, we increase boost above factory specs,

the colder heat range plug will allow the car to take the additional boost without issue

I've got a brand new set of NGK 6510's I picked up from the store today if someone wants them. Can't cancel my order because they're "special" from NAPA. $30 and they're yours.

Is that shipped? If so, I'll take them.

I have a set of NGK plugs too. I have not put them in yet beceause I have having trouble closing the gap on them. Don't wat to damage them.

I tried tapping them on a hard service to close the gap. That what the you tube video said lol. The gap was not closing though. Am I doing something wrong?

I'd be more afraid of doing that than carefully using the gap opener/closer on the spark plug tools. Haven't had any issues with breakages going that route.

My NGK's were all gapped to a whopping .045. I tapped them on a soft wooden table and because I had to close such a large gap it took me 10 to 15 minutes to do all of them.

Just make sure to point them straight towards the sky and tap them straight down. And start off LIGHTLY. You do not want to gap them too small and then have to reopen them. By starting off lightly and putting just a little more force behind each attempt you will find the sweet spot.

They will close in small increments if you just take your time.


Edit - this is all assuming that you at least have a gap check "coin" from AutoZone or someplace.

I don't get the whole tapping technique. Use the prongs on the gapping/measuring tool to bend the spark plug prong and it's much easier. If yours doesn't have that tool, auto zone has it for like $2
