I imagine there would be an obvious symptom or a thrown code that would indicate spark blowout?

Yep, misfire code. Usually a random/multiple cylinder misfire unless you have just one plug that's worse than the others. CEL will usually flash for a misfire depending on how bad it is. It also wont be able to advance timing fully.

You’ll get off lucky with a simple misfire. If the plug gets too hot it can lead to detonation, then you got real problems. Ask me how I know!
