Spare Tire Fit

Does anyone know if the optional spare tire will fit over the Brembos on the GT Performance Package 19 inch wheels?

You need to get a full size for a spare. There was a thread last year on it. I know because it was a big concern for me.

I think a standard (or smaller) floor jack is also much better than the scissor jack death traps.

My plan is to square the car up with all 19" rims since they can be rotated for wear and I only need one full size spare rather than two.

The Performance Package does not come with a spare due to the staggered setup.

If you get an extra PP wheel for a spare, make sure you know if it's front or rear.

I'm also not sure it will fit in the well and allow the trunk floor to settle.

No Mustang comes from the factory with a standard spare.
It's an accessory from Ford $225 ish.

It will on the back but not the front.
That's why there are people carrying a spacer so they can fit the rear tire onto the front.

The only tires I've ever blown to where I needed a spare and not just an air pump to get back to town involved overloaded trailers and 3-digit temperatures.

I seem to remember one of us got two destroyed tires (maybe rims to) on the passenger side thanks to potholes...a spare wouldn't have mattered.

Down in Australia they have a spare wheel for the Mustang GT with PP, the spare wheel has being thoroughly tested (privately) and works (I have one for my GT PP) and have tested fitment on front and rear. I am positive you folk in USA will be able to source one of these spare wheels from an American supplier:

Simmons rim 19x7
Bridgestone tyre 175/60R19

The spare wheel fits on the GT PP as well as fitting in the tyre well.

I am not sure if this spare wheel will work with your diff (Torsen) down here in Australia we have the limited slip diff. you will need to check this.

Im a firm believer in a full size spare so here is my setup, 255/40/19 my stock tire size on a 8.5 width wheel fits perfect just had to cut out the floor cover.
