2015 Mustang GT Premium
Hey, I'm thinking about buying a used 2015 GT Premium with the Shaker Pro (12-speaker) system. Audio is very important to me, as my career is music-based. I had a fully custom aftermarket system in my last car that I installed myself, but since it was older, it seems like it was a lot less complicated than the new ones. I read through as much of the sticky thread at the top as I could, but wasn't able to find some information, and some of it went over my head. So I have a few questions if anyone knows the answers and is willing to explain.

1) Is the audio going from the factory head to the factory amp pure, or is it subject to DSP that can't be defeated? The factory system obviously employs some kind of time alignment for the cabin settings (not very good, and you have to choose one), and severe output limiting as you crank the volume to 30. I'm guessing those things happen at the preamp level and can't be avoided. The basic 3-band EQ is not good, but hopefully leaving it flat means it is actually flat. Clarification on these issues would be helpful if anyone knows how it works.

2) Are the noise cancellation wires in the wiring diagrams posted in the sticky present on a GT, or only Ecoboost?

3) Is the BU-GN "Audio Enable" wire in the diagrams a remote turn-on lead that could be used for an aftermarket amp? If not, what options are there?

What I'm thinking of doing, until good options become available for replacing the factory head, is replacing the amp and speakers, and keeping the factory sub to start with. If I can wire harnesses to connect to the factory head->out and speaker->in, will that work with any aftermarket amp/processor I use in between, or are there other problems I don't know about?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me out.

1. The signal coming out of the HU/amp is not flat. Volume-dependent EQ is applied so just using a line-out converter will not give you the best results. It would make things so much easier if OEM systems had preamp outputs that are clean.

Member OEMRadio has worked on methods of removing the factory processing (http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63512). I am considering a DSP unit but would like to see graphs of before/after to see how the flatness is restored at differing volumes. I am sure they are out there, I haven't really looked for them yet.

2. Not sure, but other threads have mentioned the differences for the Ecoboost.

3. For the remote turn-on, there is a wiring harness in the trunk on the passenger side rear that is easily exposed. One of the wires has the 12V remote turn-on. I used a T-tap splice and fed it to the turn-on for my amp.
