The nav really annoys me. I didn't have nav in my last car, so I just used Google Maps on my iPhone. It's about a zillion times better.

Is there some trick to not hating the nav (compared to Google Maps)?

Rarely use, Waze is the way to go. Nav plus social for traffic, wrecks, speed traps, etc.

I too found the NAV a complete pos when I 1st got the car. It has become more user friendly after I read the manual and took the time to use it instead of getting frustrated and going back to my phone.

Just entering a destination is a horrible chore. The voice recognition only works half the time. When it doesn't work, you have to do that idiotic backwards address enter, and it's so slow it takes forever.

I wish the system was able to mirror my phone.
Ford has said that Sync 3 will soon be compatible with Apple CarPlay. I opted out of navigation for that reason.

I have had Navigation in my last 4 cars. Nothing wrong with them at all. It has never steered me wrong.
I have heard so several friends and relatives say they would rather use their phones. Fine by me...If you prefer to look at your little screen, take eyes off the road. I think it is silly to use your phone when you have navigation already in the car. It you can't speak slowly and clearly, perhaps you should just try taking the extra couple of min. to manually enter the info into the navigation. It is not a big hassle to do.
it is a great system, and works fine for those willing to take the time to learn something new to them.....
