Yeah nah (to be clear, I'd never buy a vette haha).. I can get a GT500 for $101,000 all in and still have $14K in walking around money.

Ouch, and not even the supercharged version.
No doubt. I don't know if anyone has seen one in person.. but the base looks/feels like a cheap plastic toy when I checked it out.

Soooo...it's a Corvette from the last 5 generations .
Pretty much, just the engine is on the wrong end haha. But seriously the 2019 is much more refined compared to the 2020 in my opinion.

what the hell did you add on that thing? i built a 3LT coupe with every reasonable option (comp seats, mag ride, both engine appearance packages, suede steering wheel/seat material, all carbon fiber accents inside and out, front lift, illuminated door sills, etc.) the only thing i didn't do was upgrade the wheels. i am just under 90 grand.

Wife wants a Viper some day anyway
Ur prolly too young to remember but when the viper first came out in 91 the salesman pitch was "Yep, this is a 400hp engine, you better buy it now cause you'll never see this kind of horsepower again" lol.

that was $114K Canadian. $90 USD would be around $126K CAD. ;)
oh i see. guess i should have seen the reference to canada in the text. also the bi-weekly payment thing. anyways, in all reality i would probably buy a base model with competition seats and Z51/mag ride and just modify it for everything else

Looks like a fully loaded GT500 is a G away from 150k CAD.. that’s with carbon pack and painted stripes. I get the being bias towards a mustang on a mustang forum, but optioned C8 to a base GT500 come on man

To me the base engine and DCT are deal killers on the C8. I think the Z06with the flat plane crank is the one that I would want. But I don't want to spend that kind of money, either.

I had done a similar build comparison when the pricing for the Corvette Convertible was announced. In both cases (Corvette and GT500) I tended to not check the box for things I considered frivolous, like $395 for color matched seat belts and all the carbon fiber and engine beautification options in the Corvette or $10,000 for painted stripes on GT500. I did screen capture both builds, so here’s what I wound up with: (yes, I’m partial to blue cars)

GT500: $81,565
Includes Handling Package and Technology Package

Corvette 3LT Z51 Vert: $88,050

Includes HUD, PDR, Memory Front Lift feature that are not available in GT500. I would probably opt for the Corvette Museum delivery ($995) but I didn’t include it in this build. More of an experience than a feature. I would also have considered buying the high spoiler, but for some reason it wasn’t available when I did this build. Or maybe it’s just not available for convertible.

I would also probably prefer the Z06, depending on the pricing, or maybe more realistically the Grand Sport. Either way, I’ll need to see the pricing and also determine if convertible is gotta have (right now it is) or if there is other content I can / would trade off to keep the vert and keep the price under $100k for a Grand Sport vert or Z06 vert.
