Slopy rear end on slick

I have hoosier slick 28x10-17

All chassis is stock with MT trans

I try 15psi and 20psi

And the rear goes like drift anytime

No spin at all !!!
Same feeling with traction control ON

Need to go with drag radial and stiffer wall???

Are you sure you aren't losing traction? Might be the suspension causing a tire unloading condition?
Slicks were always somewhat loosey-goosey for me when l ran at the strip but l never had the car get "out of shape" by very much. I usually left hard and straight with the front tires in the same relative attitude.

OP can you give a little more detail. Slicks will feel a little lose compared to a radial on the top end of the track. But they will still track straight. If you rear is coming lose Something is out of wack suspension wise. Also just a general note. I'd run 12-15psi in a slick.

yes is very loosey-goosey from the starting line... i dont try to push throttle in 3rd gear ... im sure i will go strait in the wall...

tube in the tire can will help reduce that?

Bias Ply and Radial mix will cause this. Either raising the PSI in the rear tires or getting a bias ply skinny will help.

What size is your rear wheel ? I run 10psi in my hoosiers . I've run them with the stock GTPP front wheels and they were never out of control . I'm only trapping 122-123

I'm wondering since my rear wheel is on 8" I can't go as low on the tire pressure. What size is yours GSLSE20B?

On a 8" rim lower pressure will get pretty loose. I ran a similar set up and the lowest I ran was 18psi. Anything lower and the car is pretty loose. A 10" rim will help a lot. If that's not an option keep the pressure at 18+.

Running your hoosier at that high pressure is causing your contact patch to shrink . If I run over 13lbs I spin all the way down the track . Your 10in tire is about a 6" tire at those high pressures . [MENTION=18480]car[/MENTION]los_garcia I have the darkstar 17x9.5 . I also have the 17x8 gt wheel with hoosiers and run them at 10 psi also . They are even worse at the higher pressures .

I think its time to invest in some skinnies. I run these Hoosiers at 16psi before and been fine. But now that I have a 20x10 with 275 tire it didn't like it. Had to raise psi to 18-19 but lost a lot of traction.

Watching that video makes me glad I went with skinnies from the start. That could of been real ugly if that other stang was next to ya. I run them at 15psi and they feel pretty stable but still a little sway over 100 mph.

I could have kept it in my lane. Just was easier to control it by going over. I was pretty calm when it started happening and saw an opening between two markers on the middle line and split them.

With slick rear end going wrong in second gear and higher.... not only at 100mph
